Dozens of miles right out of the box
Took these shoes straight out of the box and then proceeded to climb all around Enchanted Rock in Austin, TX and biked Spider Mountain and put many miles in rugged terrain on these shoes. The grip was fantastic, the look is great, and the fit is perfect. I am used to zero drop shoes, so I had no problem with these and believe they're better for your Achilles and feet anyway. I have only had them for a few days so i can't speak for the durability, but they held up over 3 days of rough days in the mud, heat, and rain. Would buy again.I did not buy these as running shoes, so I can't speak to that aspect of them. But as low profile, grippy trail shoes, wonderful!

Lone Peaks are good to me - Updated
My first pair was the Lone Peak 8, which is truly the most comfortable hiking shoe I have ever worn … and they are still going. Just got the LP 9s. They’ve not hit the trail yet. Just wanted to mention that I bought the Navy Blue ones … and as it turns out they are definitely Purple. (Purple is my university’s color, so that’s okay for me.) Btw ~ I’ve been a hiker for 71 years. Still hiking. Additionally, I have the Via Olympus 2s. The LPs fit my feet much better. The VO2s have very cushy soles, though. Update: Three out of five people said my shoes are navy-blue … the other two said purple. Whatever … I like these shoes. Oh, and about them not being waterproof, nothing is ever waterproof here in western Washington. A great thing about these shoes is they dry extremely fast. I like that over shoes that were said to be waterproof but weren’t, and then stayed wet for days after the rain stopped.

Tough Trail Runners & Incognito Travel Shoes for Wide Feet
Great trail running shoes that can fit lots of other uses. I’ll be taking these on international trips in place of my Hokas because they are lower profile but have the traction and width that I need to walk or hike comfortably. These are replacing my Salomon’s because unfortunately, their width is just not enough for me and I get hotspots. Not with these shoes. I was initially worried about the ‘foot shape’ coming off as awkward looking, but they look great.

Love.
I love theses shoes. I’ve had several models for the past 3-4 years. These ones are good. Love the zero drop and wide toe box. Not good for rough terrain as my heel slips a bit, but for chill hikes and walks on trails they’re great. Also love these as my go-to work shoes (I have a pair for work and a pair for fun). Size seems pretty true to size. Their durability isn’t stellar, but I don’t mind because I like everything else about them.

Comfortable. Open space at the back of the sole.
Comfortable. The open space in the back of the sole is odd. Solid would look better.

Highly recommend
My first pair of Altras and couldn’t be happier. I’m a size 13 and my feet are on the wider side. These shoes look and fit great, super comfortable, and there is more cushion than I was expecting. I recently wore them while traveling, lots of walking and some easy hiking, and they were great! No PF pain or blisters, and they have a good grip to them. Would definitely recommend!

I’m Sticking With A Winner
I have been wearing Altras for several years. The only decision for me was to go with the 9 or the 9+. In the end I went with the 9 to save a few dollars. It’s a win either way if you want a zero drop trail runner.

Love the new model!!!
So grateful for the new design. I had to quit wearing Altras for two models BECAUSE they did not work with my feet!! This new model truly fits sooo amazing!!!!
