At first I wasn't sure I needed another mouse, but this pen-style mouse is actually pretty nice. It runs on one AAA battery for the optical sensor. I plugged in the little USB wireless receiver and Windows automatically installed the needed driver. I'm surprised at how well it worked - I did all the navigation and adding photos for this review with use of the device on the leather arm of the recliner I'm sitting in. The main button on top is the left-click, right-click is the bigger thumb button on the left side. Scroll wheel at the index finger just up from the click button. There's a very small on-off switch on the underside. Seems to be well enough placed that it won't get switched off by accident. The only down side is a maybe... it just has an inexpensive feel to it... but then again, it IS inexpensive.The manual is very basic (appropriately) but offers the additional idea that this can be used as a remote presentation tool for slide advancing from a distance. It's a 2.4 GH device with an advertised range of 10m. I tried it at about 5m and even through a wall at that distance and it worked fine. Overall I like it, and will keep it in my travel bag for laptop use on the road.

This item was something that I purchased because I help a lot of different people with laptops that will not use a mouse. As for me, touchpads and touchscreens are not in my productivity mindset. I like this Pen Mouse pretty much. It seems to have a dandy learning curve for me as for the buttons. Battery life has been quite good. My biggest fault with it is that there is no convenient way to carry the receiver dongle other than dropping it in your pocket. It is certainly more compact than carrying a conventional mouse. It's not what I had hoped it would be, but it does serve it's purpose. I suppose that if it ever quits on me that I would buy another one.

Just received today and so far its been a nice upgrade to my old mouse. I got this for creative writing and art on my desktop and it was a breeze to install. It includes a stand as well. I can now create much more natural lines and writing with this pen, and it's easy for general use too!

I liked the idea of using a pen style mouse vs the regular mouse or laptop pad, but it just didn't work for me. It now sadly sits abandoned in my desk drawer. If all I did was click a mouse all day, maybe it would work, but the combined use of the keyboard and mouse makes the pen a little less than efficient. You have to stop, pick up the pen, make sure it's positioned correctly, try and maneuver it to the correct location, click, then put it back in it's holding stand as you return to the keyboard. Maybe not a big deal for some, but the extra effort can become annoying and time consuming after a while.

Learning curve when you start using this. If you’re used to a mouse don’t expect to jump right in and be a bad a$$ using it. I bought it for my patients to use when signing electronically as my work computer does not have a touch screen ( insane I know). I find the patient population that doesn’t use a computer still has trouble with it. However, after a few weeks I love it. Thing slides right in my pocket as I do home care lessening my loose items to carry in and out of the homes.

I really was hopeful that this could help me not have to use a regular mouse because they are hurting my thumbs. This Pen mouse, unfortunately, is chunky and hard for me to hold. It also is not consistent making you repeat your clicks ALOT. This just hasn't been what I had hoped.

I really like this "pen" mouse. I use it to draw, sign contracts, write, and edit. Easy to use

Seems very fragile but so far, it works very well once you get used to switching from normal mouse to the pen mouse. August 2019 - update - the unit stopped working after only just over 3 months. Don't buy this mouse.
