🌟 Cultivate a Garden of Gold!
The Golden Currant (Ribes aureum) is an heirloom, non-GMO seed variety that produces fragrant yellow blossoms in spring, attracting pollinators, and sweet golden berries in summer. This easy-to-grow perennial shrub thrives in zones 2-8, reaches up to 8 feet, and is drought-tolerant, making it a perfect addition to any garden. Requires 60 days of cold stratification or can be sown in fall/winter.

Germinated
Many of the seeds germinated after having them in a plastic bag wrapped in a wet paper towel in the fridge.. Remember these are currants which will require cold stratification. Could use a bit more information on the package for this.

Seeds arrived quickly. Now seeing germination!
Excited to notice the first sprout. It took roughly 23 days.

very good germination
I am terrible at seeds that require stratification, the absolute worst. I've been gardening for a few years now and I cannot get it right. It's weird because I can get almost anything else to grow, but I have never (not even once) gotten a single one of my cold-stratified seeds to germinate. Until these! I currently (currantly? LOL) have like 6 little golden currant seedlings going now, and the seeds actually sat around for like 10 months before I even did anything with them. I've gotten like 90% germination on these, which probably means that a competent grower would have like 110% germination (which I assume is just seedlings spontaneously sprouting in areas where you didn't even plant them). Who knows what the fruit of these guys will be like in a few years, since I don't think this is a named cultivar or anything, but the seed is good and the seedlings are vigorous!

good seeds!
I have already 6 inch tall plants ( a few) and some seeds sprouted later, and they are like 1 inch tall. Great!!!This is just an update in August with the image. They grow nicely.

Too soon to tell
They showed up, that’s about all I can say right now since they’re currently in the fridge to be ‘overwintered’ for a few weeks. Hopefully this is long enough to cool stratify them. Cross your fingers! :)

Amazing
Every seed planted sprang to life. Great seeds, 10/10 would recommend.
