Huiyin Hot Shoe Thumbs Up Grips for Fujifilm X-T2 X-T1 XT1 XT2 Camera

I was initially shocked to see the prices of other hotshoe thumb grips for Fuji cameras. Since I don't typically use a flash so I didn't mind that this required an allen key to install/remove. It fits perfectly and has stayed snug and secure. I did not expect such a small piece of gear to make a difference, but it adds a lot more comfort and ease to camera handling, and helps keep shots steady also. It makes holding the camera feel a lot more natural. I did not find it a hindrance to accessing the shutter speed dial, nor did it impede looking through the viewfinder. My greatest worry is losing the tiny allen key! Great little addition to my XT-2. Very pleased overall.

I had the much more expensive Lens Mate thumb grip imported from the US for my XT-2 before I managed to lose it after it worked itself loose from the hotshoe. This was a big shortcoming with the LM version, I often found it half way out of the hotshoe before noticing and pushing it back. Obviously I didn't notice the last time! This grip won't have the same problem with the grub screw which is an excellent idea. While the LM version is superior in terms of finish with a larger thumb rest and a non slip insert making it a bit more comfortable to use (hence 4 stars), for £9 – or a quarter of the price of the LM version after import text etc. – this is an excellent replacement and I'm very happy with it. Certainly seems to be the best of the cheap thumb grip options out there. Highly recommended.

This is a great thumb grip for the X-T2. It fits the hot shoe perfectly and makes the camera so much easier to hold and shoot with one hand. Very well machined and finished, weighs virtually nothing and the cheapest on Amazon. Excellent and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

This is well made, but totally impractical since it does not reach the natural position for one's thumb. Basically, the arm of the thumb grip is too short, hovering over the shutter speed dial and covering the function dial. I could go on, but it really is not worth buying - get a hand grip instead.

I’ve seen other Fuji cameras fitted with this and I thought I would buy one and see if it lived up to the positive reviews I had seen. Unfortunately it did not. I fitted it to my Fuji XT-1. It’s held in place with a grub screw which is tightened up with a very small Allan key, (supplied). It secures in the flash bracket which means you can’t use a flash with it fitted. I can just imagine that when I’m at an event and I need a flash, what’s the chance of me finding the Allan key? The biggest problem with this is not the products fault but mine, as I’m left eye dominant which means when I look in the eye piece, the thumb grip pokes me in my right eye.

Perfect little addition to the XT3 for those with larger hands. Makes the camera feel much more secure in one hand and reduces the strain on the hand muscles for longer shoots

Does exactly what is designed to do. The lock nut makes this version stand out over other products.

Looks and feels nice, but the left side of the attaching part has been machined incorrectly and doesn’t fit into the X-T2 flash mount. As a result it is useless, which is a shame. Quality control issues.
