All the stuff I need and none of the things I don’t
This has the right balance of features for me. I appreciate the sleep and fitness tracking, the screen is bright and clear and the battery life isn’t bad. I reckon I charge it every three to for days. The square form factor works well and as I like to wear a mechanical watch on the other wrist you can almost get away with it being seen as fitness tracker and not looking weird wearing two watches. Well that’s what I’m convincing myself anyway! A pity Garmin have gone “high end” with the latest Venu X1. It’s three the price of the Sq2 and though doubtless feature packed and going head to head with whichever Apple Watch you care to mention, kind of misses the point. The Venu Sq & Sq2 had a suite of useful features but didn’t profess to cater to those who consider themselves hyper-athletes or wild adventurers and it was priced accordingly. Now what you have is a square shaped fenix! A confusing strategic decision but it is what it is. Sad that the Sq2 is therefore likely to be the end of the story with a nice balance of features at a reasonable price.
