Made with Tinto Fino sourced from the finest 25 yr old vines 900 metres above sea level in the Eastern Ribera del Duero cultivated in the municipality of Páramo del Duero. Alexander V's The Ham Factory (14% Vol) is a thoroughbred Tempranillo with a powerful and rounded flavor. Deep garnet red with violet highlights, dark fruits with roasted mocha and black fruit compote. The palate is luscious and opulent with spiced blackcurrant, ripe raspberry, liquorice and mulberry with a long satisfying full finish and lingering notes of savoury oak and cocoa. Powerful in mouth, structured and soft aftertaste. A unique and masterfully made full bodied red that will get even better with 5-7 years ageing. Roasts, Poultry, Veal and Goats Cheese make excellent pairings, but also wonderful to indulge a glass without food. The high altitude marks the character of the wine, and has been a formative influence on the creation of this Masterpiece in the Casa Rojo - The Wine Gurus range. Harvesting is conducted overnight, in the third week of October, when the Tinto Fino has reached its ideal ripeness to avoid oxidation. The wine is aged for 18 months in American and French oak and rests 6 months in bottle. Alexander vs Ham Factory by Casa Rojo was awarded the International Award for Best Design, Branding and Communication, by daring and original designs of the label of the bottle of wine. "Alexander Vs The Ham Factory is our masterpiece, a parody of real life, how a living being has being strengthened after a loss." by Casa Rojo and an analogy of how the vines are pruned back to leave only a few bunches per vine to become stronger and more luscious in the wine making process.
