The Tactical Rifle: The Precision Tool for Urban Police Operations

Very Nice
The book is a bit out of date, I recommend checking out the Magpul vidoes. The book does give some good advance moves, but some are out of date. It was still a nice read and the 2 things I found good about it was different oils that should be used on a gun, and a few recommend sights. Still worth a buy for comparison and if you have no idea on tactical moves. For the price and the amount of pictures still make it a nice buy.

The Front Sight Way, More or Less
I wish there was a bit more in the book. The info, though some might find it dated, is still valuable. An advanced shooter with a dozen or two hours of rifle instruction will be somewhat beyond the info in this book, but it is still a good reference.Anybody who has been to Front Sight will be intimately familiar with the curriculum in this book. It is a recommended read for anybody trying to DG there for more advanced courses.

Not just for law enforcement!
I gave this book 5 out of 5, it is clear writen in the art of close quarter combat, and its aplication can also be used in house to house fighting, it is a very good information base, for the law enforcement officer and even for the soldier who has engagements in the close quarter combat senarios. What I also like is the selection of firearms. It give the officer who is not that familiar with certain types firearms ( mainly short barreled rifles)a little inside, also very interesting is the selection of ammunition in this book.

Nothing new here.
Beginners/newbies might find more value here than I did. The book provides maintenance information. "Tactical" considerations are nothing new here, that you wouldn't get from Gabe's other excellent books. This was tactically redundant IMO ... I have great respect for Gabe and his materials, but if I was able to flip through this before I got it, I would not have bought it. I have this info from other books. Needless to say, it will stay in my library.

good book not great
I enjoyed this book, it had some decent useful information. That being said some of it was a little dated and the author would state a way in which something "must" be done without explaining why. Still a good read.

Real-world tactics for Law Enforcement!
This is an excellent basic training manual for law enforcement officers desiring to include the rifle in their tactical "toolbox". Concentating on the AR-15/M-16 system, Mr. Suarez gives a good basic overview of modern tactical rifle training and requirements. I am the firearms instructor for my department, and have found all of Mr. Suarez' books to be of great use in teaching my people. I am eagerly awaiting Mr. Suarez' upcoming book on the AK47 weapons system.

Gabriel Suarez does it again
Gabriel Suarez proves that he takes his job seriously as an officer and operator. He covers a lot of details and leaves no stone unturned. This is the best thing short of an actual class, on par with some of the videos I have seen lately.

A layman's guide to how it should be done.
By the time you've read this manual, no action film or TV cop show will ever look the same again. You'll be picking out the flaws in the SWAT team's approach along with Suarez.
