Small, but fine
I fully agree with Simon Herbert's opinion. I was happy to have found this book about Japanese warbirds after years of searching. The upside is that the look of the book is basically edited in the way that David Donald, David Monday and Daniel J.March coined this book genre (authentic colour illustrations, 3d cutaways, tons of written type details). The downside is the lack of the multiple side stories and informations concerning the different aircraft types. And most of all - with no doubt - the size of this book. When I ordered this book I didn 't expect any different size than the volumes "American Aircraft, British Aircraft, German Luftwaffe of WWII". I had to lol when I unboxed the delivery. Why on earth has the Japanese volume to be rendered in Bonsai-Size? Anyway, I can truly give a recommendation for this book. I like it.

Excellent coverage for short book.
Excellent colour drawings and some photos in b&w covering the main aircraft. Text is informative and gives short but useful info about the principle models. Great for reference and nice solid binding with dust cover.

I'm glad I bought it.
A handy accompaniment to any books on the history of the war against Japan, matching planes' names with their images and characteristics

Fantastisch!

Good book on a subject that is of great interest to me and for which not many resource works can be found. It is not a cheap book, but it is well done.

Finally a good pictorial book on WW 2 Japanese combat aircraft types. It should be a good reference while reading about the CBI and the Pacific Theatre. As an added bonus ....despite being a quite small and handy hard cover edition....it still has nice color pictures and cutaway drawings.
