The Not-So-Secret Lives of REAL Mormon Wives Review: Riveting Insight To The Lives Of Actual Mormon Wives - I say actual because i found although not a member directly of the faith each story allowed me to get closer to each story teller . I love that the words on the pages create a realness to the everyday woman of the Mormon faith because we see so many stories/ perceptions but it’s not usually real first hands day to day accounts it’s not the history of how the miracles and workings of the Lord have influenced why they chose the faith to begin with. Reading how these women not only love their community but even deeper their faith was inspiring and made me feel the desire to deepen my bond with who I serve and what it means for ME to recognize the nuggets of guidance from the creator in my personal story. I love how I was able to extract such a profound insight from being able to have access to real people living real everyday life’s. Brava brava and brava again. Recommending to all my friends. Review: Just great stories that inspire - This book is about inspiring stories of wonderful women. This is a great read for anyone. This made me want to take a Zumba Class and Help those with special needs. I wanted to shop at Bohme and help sponsor a family to immigrate to the U.S.... I wanted to run a marathon, listen to a podcast, help the homeless... Just a great book to read.

Finally!
As a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it's frustrating to see us portrayed in the media as caricatures so I'm grateful for this book. It showcases what everyday life for LDS women is really like in such a beautiful way. Although each of their stories is incredible, they're not unique. God really is in the details in all of our lives. Miracles still happen, large and small. None of these women claim to have all the right answers to life's problems, just a beautiful reliance on the Savior and keeping him at the forefront of our lives. Highly recommend!

LDS women are not a monolith
I liked this book more than I expected to. The different women's stories were unique and showed each woman overcoming personal struggles in her life. The introduction to the book states the book's purpose is to show that Latter-day Saint women are not a monolith, and I think this collection of personal narratives does a great job of highlighting different life experiences. There were certainly stories that were more interesting and resonant for me personally than others, but I think overall the book fulfills its purpose and highlights several remarkable women. I don't love the defensiveness of the title--while I think the reality show it references isn't especially representative of Latter-Day Saint women as a whole (although it does have its moments), I don't love dragging anyone down, and I do feel like there is a bit of that implied here. But aside from that, I do think the book highlights interesting, strong women. I received an advanced reader's copy. All opinions are my own.
