this is a well written book
It is informative on the subject but it does not preach its information. And unlike recently published, more expensive and more elaborately presented books on illustration, the content within this one is extremely useful for many reasons. Visually the illustrations act as a stimulus of ideas, but we also get to know about the thought processes behind the artworks and some sharing of the actual techniques used. In other books certain information is simply not there, and the use of language is a lecture sometimes, and not in a scholary sense - so a little frustrating. But this book, is an insightful book in regard to any kind of background information and how to put ideas in context. Love it!
