After wiring per the instructions, the output voltages on trailer side pins are all powered at around 14v or just below. Is this unit faulty?

It depends on the system you are fitting it with ie 12v or 24v. This unit is for a 12v system which is normal for most UK cars & light vans. If you are trying to fit with a 24v system then the volts would be reduced to be compatible with a lighting trailer board. Hope this helps

Where is the reverse output pin (R) shown on the diagram?

Only a 13 pin socket has a reverse pin. A 7 pin does not.

Hi, it says 'Will suit vehicles where the sidelights are powered from the same wire as the brake lights ' but 2 inputs, which do we use?

Yes all you do is connect the red wire to that and it will automatically switch between the two
