This product was shipped quickly and got here just in time. Currently I am reviewing this a salt spreader, and will let you know in spring how it works for fertilizer and seed. I bought this after my tailgate salter on my truck had the motor go out on it again and I knew I couldn't get it fixed fast enough with 3 days of storms that were coming only 2 days away. Amazon delivered in 2 days as was promised and in good condition.Assembly of this was simple enough and only required a few sockets and a screw driver. After seeing some of the reviews about assembling it I was a bit worried, so I timed my assembly. Even with my kids watching and asking questions I was able to assemble the whole thing in 23 minutes. Quick tip, don't tighten all the nuts until the whole frame is connected and loosely held together, that will give you the little wiggle you need to get some of the things to line up properly. Just make sure you go back and final tighten everything. Once i had the unit together i went to mount it on my prairie 650, it was easy enough but required removing the plastic rack cover. With that out of the way it only took a few minutes to find good locations for the U bolts and to tighten everything up. Again don't tighten til all 4 are on and you like the position. The whole process took me under 40 minutes.Powering up the unit for me was easy because i have a 7 point trailer plug wired up at the rear of my prairie. This is a simple solution for this and many other items to get 12v power source and pulling small trailers with lights when needed. Some of the people have said it throws salt or seed all over the back of their quad, I'm guessing they cut the lighter adapter off the power lead and connected directly to power. I would also guess the connected the power backwards forgetting that it will still spin with the + an - flipped, just backwards and will spray all over your quad. This is a great little unit, it is able to hold 2 50lb bags of rock salt at a time and spreads with a good cover at about 15' wide. Didn't jam up with rock salt, or chloride. Needs the occasional shake to keep it feeding constant but not a big deal. I didn't have any issues with it spraying salt all over the back of my quad but it could easily have a mud guard mounted between it and mine if I felt it necessary. I have 2 100+ car parking lots that i plow and salt and this got the job done. It has actually replaced my tailgate salter for this season and I will buy a new one of those in the off season, or I might just keep using this depending of how the rest of this season goes.

Works Well or my ATV
Pros:1. Easy to install2. Lightweight3. Holds at least 40 lbs of product4. Good spread coverage5. Good design6. Quiet7. Agitator and open/shut mechanism is smoothCons:1. No instructions in the box. You'll find it buried here on Amazon.2. Not a universal fit , but I didn't expect it to be.3. U-bolts are too narrow and too long. I had to add spacers to use my power tools.4. Power adapter is a cigarette plug -- really? You'll need to buy an adapter for the battery. This is one of the more reasonably priced spreaders. I like it!

Can't handle oats at all. Barely does wheat and fertilizer
I bought it based on reviews. This time I was let down badly by them. Even with the seed gate wide open, Oats will not fall through at all. It does ALMOST ok with wheat but still aggravating. Triple 13 and Nitrogen are a big pain also. I have to dig into the material, down to the seed gate opening and get it flowing again. You can imagine that this becomes a cussing fit after the first few times of stopping and clearing. The motor being mounted inside the seed tub IS NOT A GOOD THING! It simply helps to block flow of material and when you have to go in by hand to clear the gates, it blocks your hand because the motor and it's bracket sit directly above the seed gates Maybe adding a home made agitator will help. I'm trying that next but I do not have much hope. If you are spreading a small smooth seed smaller than wheat it may work fine but if there is a hint of clumping...forget about it. Too late to return so I'm going to try making lemonade out of this lemon. Please don't buy a unit with the motor inside the tub....that's so stupid!! What was I thinking! On the bright side...assembly wasn't hard and that is about as positive as I can get with this thing.

Great coverage.
Product arrived with one broken fin on the spinner. Probably could have recieved another but never worried about it. Used on my mini truck . Had to extend the power wire to reach my cab. Been using it for almost 1 year and still works fantastic. Has great spread zone and a variable chute opening which can be modified to adapt to a cable. Turns my glacier driveway into a manageable driveway. Downside was that it spits product 360 degrees. There is no need to spread back at the vehicle. I also use this in the spring to spread fertilizer on my 2100 sq ft garden. Traction sand bought at hardware store is best as it spreads the best. Beach sand tends to clump up and stick.

Worth the money but missing out being great
Not made to be commercial or with the strongest material but... it does what it says and at a very attractive price point. The only real drawback I have seen so far is there is needs to be a pin or something within the bin on the spinner shaft which helps agitate the contents. No matter how hard you try, stuff like fertilizer or even salt will have some clumps that take very little effort to break but by default nothing is there to help. It's just the shaft itself spinning so you're constantly fighting clumps blocking the holes and inconsistent spreading of material.

Works great!
I just have a couple acre pasture to seed and this thing makes it a breeze! Easy to assemble and attach to the quad. Plenty of adjustment to allow you to seed quickly. Hopper could be a touch bigger so I could put in a whole 50lb bag of seed, but it’s not worth knocking the product for.

Perfect
It handles salt, seed, and fertilizer with ease. The 100 lb capacity is perfect, and the rain cover is a great feature. It’s easy to use and built to last.
