I got these only after replacing all the hoses on the backhoe of my compact tractor. What a mess that was!I've since wised up and got these to plug the hydraulic oil fittings next time. I also got some silicone caps for the quick disconnects and they work well, but that's another messy matter.The compact tractor only needs the 1/4" and 3/8" JIC and ORFS pieces, but my kid's much larger Case FEL will use the larger ones.All the parts are well made, and each has a plastic insert to protect the threads when they are not in use and back in the box. Nice!Unless you permanently cap a fitting, you shouldn't run out of these parts over time. They just go back in the box when done with the job.Speaking of the box, these are heavy parts that would destroy most plastic boxes. This box is beefy steel and it's really nice. If you do somehow use up all the parts you will fortunately be left with an awesome storage case.Verdict:Recommended.One may think that caps and plugs for hydraulic fittings aren't something to get excited about, but I am!!

This is a great set, with every size you might need for an American tractor. There are plenty of pieces to handle any job. All the caps and plugs screw together completely, so there are no bad threads, and the galvanizing looks good. The ones I have use have sealed perfectly with no leaks yet. The metal case is a good addition since the whole set must weigh 25 lbs. At about 75 cents each, these are a great buy!

Quite a nice assortment, if you can keep 'em organized. Wish they were laser etched, but then they'd be 3 times the price.

I have nothing to say bad about this kit. I would want to see ORB fittings but you would not be able to lift the kit. This kit is heavy! All the fittings are in a heavy duty case that can take a beating, not some plastic crap but metal. All the fittings are are in there own compartment and well labled, When and if I ever need another kit I woud order in a heartbeat. Well worth the price to have around the shop.

This is a very nice set of high-quality caps and plugs. For owners of US-made agricultural and heavy equipment like Case, Cat, etc., this has what you need for the more common hydraulic jobs, having both 37-degree JIC, and O-Ring Face Seal (ORFS) plugs and caps.The thing with this set is that you really need these - but most mechanics will not buy them because of the cost - but not any more.Anytime you remove a cylinder, a valve assembly, or a hose out in the field or in the shop, you need to plug those ends, but no one does it. Instead we either use something like duct-tape or, more often, we just get crap into those expensive parts and cause more trouble. But no more! You can afford this set, and it is really well made, and it even includes a heavy steel case to help you keep them in order.Save a $2,000 valve body with an $89 plug set? What's to think about - what more could you ask for?

Since I have received this kit I have had to use 4 of the plugs. First I had a hose on my backhoe leaking. I disonnected the hose and capped the lines. Was able to stow the backhoe and get it back to the trailer. Had to order the hose and once I got it I of course put the used caps back into the kit. Then just a week ago, I pinched a hose on my snowplow. And I did the same thing. I capped the hose and the fitting on the cylinder. I was able to cotinue using the plow just could not actuate that right wing. Again had to wait for the hose to come in. But replacement was easy. And again I put the caps back into the kit. If you have equipment that uses hydraulic hoses. This is very good to have.

Having to tie up lines or make temporary plugs every time I need to remove a hydraulic line is really a pain in the neck (and sometimes impossible). Never again!With this cap & plug set I'll never have to make single-use hangers or plugs again! No more taping the heck out of a line end or fitting to create a moisture and dirt barrier if it's going to sit open while I'm waiting for parts to arrive for a day or two. Now I just cap or plug the termination as soon as it's disconnected and I don't have to think about it again until I'm ready to reassemble it.This is a good quality set of tools. They're heavy duty fittings and the threads are clean and precise. I don't know how I ever went without them.Pros:• Easy to use• Reusable• Wide assortment of sizes• Huge time saver• Saves money on hydraulic fluid, as well as on tape and wire• Twelve sizes with duplicates of every size• Good value for the priceCons:• I honestly can't come up with any drawbacks whatsoever.I hope this helps!

This set is surprisingly heavy.I measured 20 pounds!With a set this big a metal case is a wise idea.I received this for "free" at a taxable value of $89.99 to report to the IRS. Although I personally wouldn't pay full price for a set like this, I cannot find a better priced alternative at this time.4 stars at the current price of $89.995 stars if you can buy it under $80.
