Surprisingly good, just what we wanted.
I bought this cover lifter to replace an aging, rusting, broken "HotSprings Cover Lifter II". The price of a genuine Hotsprings replacement was jaw droppingly expensive, I can only imagine they are made of solid gold. Also, the design of the Hotsprings cover lifter is inferior to this CoverMate because it does not support the entire length of the cover, this caused the fabric to tear and the stitching to pull out forcing us to replace it. The CoverMate however, evenly distributes the weight of the cover along the entire width; which I believe will increase the covers' lifetime.The CoverMate was reasonably easy to put together and install, however, I did end up pre drilling small small starter holes for the self tapping screws (of which there are many) to make the job a lot easier.Like the previous reviewer I was also skeptical that such a light weight lifter could support our heavy 7'9" wide cover, I was especially concerned that it might buckle under the weight or the straps that hold it upright against its weight would snap or the screws wouldn't hold.So far the lifter has worked perfectly, it is made of rust free aluminum and looks like it's going to last a long time, while preserving the integrity of the cover.

Easy to use spa cover lift
I love this. It is so easy to use. Just one hand and it glides right off. Great price and arrived fast. Can’t recommend it enough!

Plastic tube strap hindges screw to back panel of Spa.
For the money spent, would definitely liked to have seen a heavier schedule tubing, stainless assembly screws, and pivot support hindges that were not plastic and very lightweight.

Spa Cover Lifter
I was skeptical that a little piece of metal could solve my problem, but this is AWESOME. No problem whatsoever lifting that heavy cover off my spa. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Easy to install and the price was right too!
