UV fluorescent dye engine oil/fuel/antifreeze..... shows up PERFECTLY under this light!
EDITED TO ADD: I thought I'd also show everyone what a scorpion looks like when you shine this UV blacklight on one!!! YIKES!!! They definitely stand out like a sore thumb!!!I had a small UV/blacklight pen light that I was trying to use in order to diagnose an extremely small engine oil leak in one of my older truck engines (more to come on why I was using a UV blacklight...). The leak was SO TINY, practically invisible to the naked eye, and my great old reliable 7.3 Ford Powerstroke Diesel engine was entirely caked and covered in a film of thick baked on gunk and engine oil making a leak that much harder to see. However, over time, this little leak continued to get worse and I simply could not see from where it was originating due to all of the excess oil that had accumulated in the valley of the block and just about everywhere else you could imagine under the hood. My biggest fear was a rear main seal leak..... which turned out NOT to be the case, thankfully so!!! These larger diesel engines have a lot more surface area, and use engine oil in numerous places within the motor, turbo, hight pressure oil pump, etc..... unlike today's smaller vehicles.So....... I got smart (not really because I should have done this a long time ago....duh me....!!!) and bought some UV fluorescent dye made specifically for my application. I dumped two very small bottles into the engine oil and let the engine warm up after driving around for a few minutes. I get back home and pop the hood of my truck. I then take this new Vansky UV light, which is about 20 times bigger than the small UV pen light I had, and inspect the engine from all angles (PLEASE keep in mind that doing this at night is MUCH better in allowing you to see the "glowing" color of the UV dye. This Vansky light was a HUGE bonus over the smaller light I'd been using and in no time at all I discovered the culprit. I could not believe that this tiny oil leak was coming from a very small bolt, that acts as a drain plug, on the back side of the high pressure oil pump (or HPOP for short). The o-ring around this small bolt, about the diameter of a pinky finger, was absolutely shot. I was in disbelief that after all this time (about 2 years to be honest) that this was such a simple fix after figuring out a good way to diagnose my oil leak by purchasing this Vansky UV blacklight and the dye which I purchased from a local auto store. Good luck and hope this helps.

LEDs are beginning to burn out at 3.5 years old
Honestly this is a pretty decent little UV flashlight, comes in pretty handy for many things. I’ve used it for automotive leak finding, but mostly for pet stain locating. And it does well for that. While the manufacturer/seller touts that the LEDs are rated up to 12 years, mine has a single LED that has burnt out at being 3.5 years old. And I honestly hadn’t really used it much in that time, only in the last year have I been using it. Since we got a new puppy a year ago, we’ve been working on potty training and there have been many accidents! This light did a great job in finding those pee spots so I could clean them. But I can’t say that I expect this light to last for as long as they advertise as an led has already gone out, and I’m sure there is more to follow.*A tip: rather than using the 3 AA batteries that put out a total of 4.5V collectively, I use a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 3.7V battery (when fully charged is t is at 4.2V). I can also easily fit a 26650 Li-ion battery, for even longer run times without needing to recharge as often. Using the Li-ion battery actually helps the light perform better and much longer than the AA batteries, while also not exceeding the input voltage. Also, I tried this brand’s (Vansky) 100 LED UV flashlight, and the 51 LED outperforms the 100 LED.

Very cool, not I can't detect Urine
We had gotten 2 puppies, and as expected they have been having some accident while potty training. I purchased this light hoping it would help me detect the little spots we might have over looked. So far only my mom had said she saw urine when further away. But, even when the puppies pee and we are right on top of them, I can't see the urine. It did however spot the urine my brother was leaving in the bathroom. And that fight alone is the reason why this product is getting 4 stars. It may not have gotten the puppy urine but it got the 20 year old's! Now I have a UV light and a clean bathroom :)

works to about 10-15 feet away
Walk through the woods at night you will see things glow. Mostly fungus on trees. Saw the pink belly of a flying squirrel (white fur turns pink)

I wanted to get this because we had a new rug installed
Our rescue dog tries to get into this room and go to the bathroom. I wanted to see where. I have not used enough to review

Adequate black light
This black light is a bit heavy and not always reliable if not used in a dark environment. It's the first one I purchased for testing vintage glass for uranium, so I really have nothing to compare it to. I would say it is adequate.

It works, but not for dog urine in carpet
I've included two photos, one is without the light and the other is with the light, both on the same spot of carpet. The light is EXCELLENT at finding fuzz and other tiny items on carpet, but not a single drop of dried dog urine showed up. I was hoping this would make my cleaning easier! The place it will help for me is the bathroom! 4 young boys in one bathroom is enough to gross anyone out! It DOES light up human urine. I showed my boys, even they were grossed out with them selves! Ha! So, buyer beware, it works for some things but not all. As far as the build and design of the light, it is excellent for the price! I wouldn't change anything with it so far!

Works for cat spray
I have a Feral cat that keeps coming in my cat door to eat, which would be fine.. but either he is spraying or it is making my cats spray. This little flashlight helped me locate the spots.

Works as advertised
The flashlight works even with some light, but it works best when the room is fully dark. I use this to find dog pee stains. I'm happy with this product because I did not even realize there were pee stains on my hardwood floor since the colour of the urine blends in with the floor.

Wrong NM for cat or mouse urine stains
The flashlight is bright and shows all dirt lol. But definitely does not show cat or mouse urine stains. From reading about the wavelengths online, you need 365-370NM for pest or cat urine and this one is 395NM. I should have researched it more before buying

Used it like once, and then it stopped working properly. Its like battery contacts are shorting out or something.Don't recommend.
