Great primer on how hormones work
Great primer on how hormones work, and how they can go awry! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone past puberty, even if you don't have hormonal issues/imbalances (though you're probably not looking for this book unless you do).An easy and interesting read, though the incorrect grammar is a little hard to get around, but this guy is a pharmacist, not a literary scholar.

THE Handbook for Bioidentical Replacement Therapy
Rudy Dragone is a Master Pharmacist and Compounding Pharmicist in the Phoenix area of AZ. Too far for me to travel to consult on postmenopausal issues, but this book has a wealth of info for maintaining your strength, vitality and mood. Thanks Rudy!!!

Not easy to follow
If you read VERY carefully and mark the book with notes and grammatical corrections, there is a lot of information here. But there is little-to-no editing, and the sentence structure is so bad that it's hard to follow what he's saying. It's as though he took an audio, and let a voice-recognition software program type it out for him. He rambles - as we all do when speaking - sometimes running sentences together with no punctuation; sometimes not completing a sentence at all, but moving on to the next thought in his head. This botched approach to sharing the information makes me question the legitimacy of it all.I plan to finish the book, along with taking notes, because I PRAY there's some valid information, but the process is labor-intensive and the information is slow in "downloading" due to the poor presentation.

Do yourself a favor and read Rudy's book!
I have every hormone related book under the sun - why? Because my concierge doctor DID NOT understand that I felt like I was dying because my estrogen, testosterone and progesterone had flatlined. After a massive hormone headache, he later prescribed thyroid medicine based on my increasing TSH number. But he ignored that my DHEA WAS LOW- and that was why my TSH was falsely inflated. After one week of thyroid medicine I was sent into a hyperactive state for more than one month, losing what little fat I had and experiencing muscle wasting which I am still dealing with 4 months later! So that explains why I am reading every book about hormones that I can get my hands on. But why is Rudy's book my favorite ? Because he lists symptoms and then explains what hormone problems are behind the symptoms and makes suggestions on what can be done! Most hormone books do not get into this level of detail, but Rudy presents this information front and center. We need more pharmacists who look at the patient and aren't afraid to ask questions and get involved. I think if I had taken my UNNECESSARY thyroid medication prescription to Rudy's pharmacy, he would have asked me questions on why I was getting this filled which would have led to more of a discussion about whether I should "try this and see if it helps" like my concierge doctor suggested (idiot!) and maybe an on-the ball pharmacist like Rudy would have said enough to keep me from ruining my health with just 5 days worth of unnecessary thyroid medication.GET RUDY'S BOOK SO YOU are armed with information about hormones.

The Clinical Reference Guide is especially helpful. For a longer preview of the book, check google books.
The first half of this book has a conversational tone, and mirrors the lectures he's given (check youtube); it covers the "what and why".The second half of this book, the Clinical Reference Guide, is a goldmine of BHRT specifics, tips, and tricks; it covers the "how".A good preview, showing more pages than the Amazon preview, is at:https://books.google.com/books?id=H_n2AgAAQBAJ

This reads as Rudy speaks, so I'm guessing someone typed up one of his many lectures. So know that and go with it...someone should have proof read it, but again try to imagine you are invited to hear him speak on the subject he's has spend years understanding and be glad he is willing to share that knowledge and experience with you. I can almost guarantee your doctor doesn't know this information and now controlled by obamacare...won't learn it. Say NO to big pharm dictating what you use in your pursuit of health. Repeal affordable health care NOW.
