Simply way to attract birds to the bird bath
We've had a bird bath for several years, but very rarely did any bird drink from it, let alone take a bath, despite being next to several bird feeders. I decided to buy this fountain when looking up various types of water features that could fit in a bird bath as I heard that birds look out for moving water.Assembly is simple - Just peel off the film, attach the desired head and place in the water. It doesn't have any switches and automatically starts running in about 2-3cm of water depth and floats around. It runs continuously in sunshine and pulses like an effect with cloud cover. On very dull days and during dusk/dawn, it pulses every few seconds. It does exactly what we want, rippling the water in the bird bath. Within two days, I've seen more birds drink from the bird bath than in the past few months. A robin now regularly takes a bath in it, which is fun to watch. The unit comes with several spray pattern heads, however, we found it works best in our bird bath with just the small pipe to create a flow of water. The wider heads spray water outside the bird bath, emptying it within an hour. It has one narrow head which sprays within the bird bath when it's calm, so we occasionally attach this head when its calm outside. One thing to watch out for is frost. After a hard frosty night, it was trapped in a block of ice and took around an hour to fully thaw with warm water before it would flow again.Update 11th August '20: Around June, its solar panels started deteriorating, bleaching white in sections. By the start of August, it would only flow in bright sunlight. It has ceased operating, so I dropped the rating to 3 stars as it did not last a full year.

This is smaller than i thought
The media could not be loaded. When the fountain arrived in a small box, i thought it would not be very good but after putting it into some water it was better than expected, it has different nozzles to change the water height and spray. I got two flower pots and put them on top of each other, i filled it with a smaller pot inside then put stones around it then laid some chicken wire on top then put some coloured stones on top and the water pump in the middle, it works ok but may have to get a bigger pot as the wind blows the water over the edge sometimes.

Works well, helps to aerate our pond
I was looking for something that would help cycle the water and aerate our small garden pond, without needing any mains power, and this looked like it would do the job.Easy to get up and running - just fit a nozzle and drop into water, and when the sun shines on it the pump kicks in.There are 4 different nozzles, so you can pick the one you want / like best.It would be great if this was able to store energy, so that the pump continues working when not in direct sunlight, but I knew that wasn't the case when I ordered it so can’t complain.

Brilliant!
The fountain arrived on a nice sunny day and worked as soon as I put it in the pond. It is about 10cm/4 inch diameter (I don't think the description says this) so is perfect for my small pond. In full sunshine with the smallest attachment it gives a steady fountain about 30cm/12 inch high - it is now overcast but it is still moving water in low spurts every couple of seconds.

Solar fountain
The little solar fountain is such fun. I have a wide bird bath which is important so that the fountain water goes back into the bowl and doesn't end up on the grass, thereby emptying the bird bath. It goes about 12-14 inches high in direct sun but still does a bit on bright days when the sun isn't out all the time. Quite mesmerising and even my neighbours like the sound of the tinkling water. Good for insects who come to drink round the edge. Only down side is pigeons are also attracted to it.

Surprisingly good!
Because it wasn't very expensive, I didn't expect too much from this purchase, but it has surprised me by doing exactly what was promised. It is very sensitive to the amount of direct sunlight and often does a spurt/stop pattern, which isn't explained in the instructions (and freaks out the cat), but it does do a continual fountain in full sun at midday. I bought it to de-murk a smelly mini-pond and the moving water has certainly led to an improvement although I think I have more to learn about how to keep the mini-pond healthy. The multiplicity of nozzles is unnecessary and a bit wasteful in terms of plastic waste.

Great!
Really good solar powered fountain. Easy to put together with a choice of heads for different effects. Went with the gentle tumbling water one as the rest were more powerful and worried it would scare the birds off. Only three stars for the suction power as it does tend to move around in the water but as long as there is plenty water in the bird bath and its getting plenty sunlight it works fine. Tried to upload a video but its not working for some reason. Glad i bought it.

Only works on sunny days
The media could not be loaded. The fountain is easy to put together and works straight away... on a sunny day. It has to be in full sunlight or it dribbles or simply stops to work. A cloud, a slight shadow and it doesn't sprinkle. When it does work, it is nice enough. I guess you get what you pay for.
