I decided to get this to go in my Lavaza Desai coffee pod machine as I live in a seriously hard water area.Setting it up is simplicity itself, simply use cold water to rinse the bag of crystals in, then place it in the water container of the machine, then use the machine as usual.Having done this the machine works as beautifully as it always has, but I've noticed over a period that the coffee taste does seem to have improved, being even smoother than before yet retaining its strength and quality of taste.I will report back in the future if things change or if any issues occur, but as of now this product does seem to live up to its claims and I would recommend you get one if you have hard water as well.

The product is imported but there are no CE or UKCA or RoHS marks printed on the package - so I cannot confirm that this product meets EU or UK conformity standards or is free of hazardous substances.There is no confirmation or claim on the packaging that this product has food grade material.The filter bag is plastic but there is no confirmation that this plastic is BPA free, or that the materials have been independently tested or have NSF certification. There are no certification logos on this product from NSF or the Water Quality Associatio nor confirming SGS testing.This may just be a marketing error but all I know about this product is that it is white material in a plastic bag and claims that it will improve the taste of my coffee.I have no idea if this product is safe or not - so I cannot recommend it until I know it is.Filterelated can contact me or respond to this review with the required information and I will update this review with the information that is provided. I am not saying the product is unsafe. Filterelated do have a number of products in Alkaline filtration but I don't even know if it is alkaline filtration that is being used and if it is it will not remove calcium. So I just don’t know for sure that the product is safe as there is no independent certification to confirm that it is. I need more information from Filterelate to be able to consider this is a product fit for purpose.

I live in a really hard water area, so kettles and coffee machines need to be descaled every 6 weeks or so, or spend a fortune on a water filter with replaceable cartridges.I now use just a digital espresso machine as I've binned the kettle and even after just a few minutes in the water tank, this Softballs anti-limescale filter makes a huge difference to the taste.I had a cappuchino prior to adding the filter, and then one around 30 minutes after adding the filter and there is without doubt a difference in the taste, with a the slightly softer water making for a better coffee.It will be interesting to see if the flavour improves over the coming days, which it hopefully will, but at this moment in time I'm pretty impressed.Really simple solution and works with any machine with a water tank. Genius.

Well, it's a little hard to tell if it's working well, but I *think* I notice a slight difference in taste. I do have moderate hard water where I currently live and scaling does occur. I'm hopeful this will help with the new Krups coffee machine I have. I could get a dedicated water filter for my machine, but the price is a little off-putting. This appears to be a generic option to suit many machines, and at a reasonable price. Easy to use.
