Basic Beyond All-Season Goose Down Comforter (King) - Premium Down Duvet Insert with Hypoallergenic Down Proof Cotton Shell

I already own a king size down comforter from JCPenney that is extremely fluffy and very warm for the coolest nights and cost over $300. However, it's too much warmth for our mild TN winters. I got this down comforter by Basic Beyond because I was needing something that wasn’t over-the-top warm and it wasn’t as fluffy as the one I already have. (I took close up photos and photos of a side by side comparison of bulkiness of my old blanket in comparison with this comforter by Basic Beyond. Let me know if you find this helpful with your shopping.)It does really well for moderate warmth without feeling too heavy, overly fluffy and bulky. It’s not quite an all-weather type of blanket as I’ve used it on warm nights and it ended up being to warm. Even with that being said, it was a very breathable type of blanket in that you didn’t get hot and sweaty as a down-alternative blanket made of synthetic fibers.It’s made really well with the outside covering made of a fine, tight weave of 100% cotton that doesn’t allow feathers to come through. The stuffing is soft without any coarse feeling of feathers. There is a subtle Greek key pattern on both sides with navy blue piping on the edges. The piping gives it a polished edge and the blue is very dark that it almost looks black and could easily be passed off as black. The corners have a loop so you can fasten a duvet cover to it.It comes compressed and I was able to fluff it up by hand but had better results popping it into the dryer with no heat. However, I wasn't able to get it to fluff up like the photos which was the only downside. I also liked that it comes packaged in a box for more compact storage in my closet. It also makes a nicer package for gifting vs. a comforter bag that comforters typically come in.My husband and I are really pleased with the quality of this blanket and the moderate level of warmth and that it’s at a very affordable price. I love the attention to detail with the fine covering pattern, construction and polished edge of piping. Overall, this was a great product for us! Omg, opened the box and sealed in the package with the comforter was multiple bugs! Disgusting. Leaving it outside my house until UPS can pick it up and return it!!!

Opened the box and set out to let it "breathe". It was thin and the material had this feeling of plastic. Completely different from the picture and the description. After 6 hrs of it sitting out, it was still flat and seems as if would have been very loud to sleep under. It sounds like plastic rubbing together! DO NOT BUY

I don’t know what I got but it certainly was not what was advertised. The comforter I received had no gussets or baffles, was gray and felt like there was no filling at all. The shell was not cotton, but some sort of microfiber. Sent it back. Very disappointed

Hot sleeper but this is perfect for year round. California year round anyways...synthetic fillers are always too hot for me but this is perfect. My son has horrible allergies and the cover for this doesnt let any feathers from inside penatrate. The cover does its job, it's not soft so dont plan on using without a duvet cover purchased separately.

I know that I have to wait to have the feathers plump up but the thing that bothers me is the cover of the comforter. It is not cotton that I have ever felt before. It is some sort of plastic that makes a sound when you touch it. I would like for someone to physically touch the cover of the comforter and let me know what it is. d

After using for a few months, all of the down has migrated to the edges of the comforter. The middle is completely flat. The stitching did not keep the feathers in place. It is also 96x96 not 106x98. It doesn’t cover the sides of the mattress.

It's so cosy under this thing. Wouldn't recommend duvet cover unless you live where it gets really cold. My kids love to use this blanket - they come snatch it off my bed and snuggle on couch With it every chance they get
