10 Trick-or-Treaters: A Halloween Book for Kids and Toddlers

This book is adorable. Our 1 yr old loves it! She is constantly bringing it to us to read! I counts down as 10 trick or treaters go about their night and get scared by Halloween creatures: monster, vampire, mummy, etc. The artwork is colorful and filled with Halloween imagery that my daughter enjoyed very much. For the person who said this book was sinister because of the ending, my interpretation is that the last trick or treater went to bed and thus wasn't trick or treating anymore, so there were none. There wasn't any imagery to convey she disappeared. I think it was completely innocent and is a great book for kids. This will definitely be a favorite for years to come!

I️ used this book for students in my speech therapy groups to work on speech sounds as well as language development -- it was a hit! The pictures are engaging and the overall storyline is cute and easy to follow. I️ would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in adding another seasonal book to their collection. My students asked me to read it multiple times during the week.

I borrowed this book from the library for my 2.5 year old daughter and we had to renew it so many times I finally had to purchase it for her.The pictures are so cute with short rhymes on each page to count down each trick or treater as they get scared off for various reasons - none of which are truly scary. My daughter loved "fake screaming" for each scenario and doing her interpretation of the characters; the witch, monster, vampire...My daughter had so much fun identifying with the little trick or treaters, being scared by various things and acting out the scenes. She can quote the story and read it to me now.In a nutshell, great visuals, nice rhymes to count down so the kids can anticipate the number coming next if they are learning to count.This book is a TREAT! (and it's STILL one of my daughters top favorites)

I love this counting book and the cute illustrations. It's a fun Halloween story with cute rhymes. Highly recommend! My kids like it when I change my voice as I imitate the witch, vampire and monster. So fun!!

I was not initially thrilled with the illustrations of this book, but thought the text was smart. There's just enough of it per page to keep my 1 year old interested. This ended up being the book he wanted to read first every night this Halloween season. For whatever reason it really worked for him. So it gets a 5 stars. I appreciate the diversity of children depicted.

This book helped create some hype for Halloween, while "counting" the candy and trick-or-treaters for my almost 3 year old. We enjoyed the book! If you are looking for a simple and fun book, with some learning snuck in to help your little one prepare for Halloween this is a great option!

I checked this out of the library last year for my daughter who was then 9 months old and I thought it was a really cute book. So this year I bought it for her. She is now 21 months old and this is the best $5 I've ever spent for her. She absolutely loves this book, she will literally not leave home without it. She has learned to count from it and can name all the costumes. It has a wonderful rhyme which luckily does not drive me crazy when I have to read it dozens of times a day and the bright colors and cute pictures are great too. I highly recommend this book. I'm just sorry I didn't buy the board book format as our copy is now showing considerable wear and tear from being loved so much.

My 2-year-old is obsessed with this book and can recite it from memory. It’s adorable and catchy, with cute illustrations. Not scary at all, great for a first and second and third Halloween.

A simple halloween themed counting book which is bright and easy to read for the little one and the parent. My little girl choose this every night for weeks in the run up to halloween and she loved it.

Cute pictures board pages . Great for little people.

I thought at first this would only be taken out once a year, but honestly my child loves the rhyme style of it and we read it periodically throughout the year.

J'ai acheté ce livre afin de travailler Halloween dans ma classe de CE1 ! Le vocabulaire de la fête est présent (bat, spider, skeleton, ghost...), les illustrations sont colorées et l'histoire, par son anaphore "Ten trick-or-treaters... and then they were ...", permet aux élèves de comprendre plus facilement l'histoire.Je recommande vivement !!
