Boat rail.
I used this tape on my Lund fishing boat as a non-skid surface on the gunwales, the top rail edge of the boat. The kids jump off the boat, and although the rail is textured, I was concerned about slipping and injuries. The texture pattern is about 3-mm wide with 1-mm deep groves running lengthwise along the boat. I prepped the surface using 90% IPA/water and cleaned hands/fingers with the same. The adhesive is very tacky, but does not disrupt when touching it; you can remove your fingers without adhesive transfer to your hands. The liner removes easily, with no partial tears. I needed a blade as a wedge to get a leading edge of the liner to remove.. The tape comes well-packaged; shrink wrap and cellophane. There was no foreign material on the edges of the tape. After applying the tape, I used a small paint roller to smooth the tape and press firmly to the boat. The surface is not gritty and appears tough and resilient. It does not adapt well to the curves on my boat gunwales. So, I had to cut 1-ft sections in places as the gunwales approach the bow. The manufacturer doesn't recommend using the tape on texture surfaces. However, the price is so low, why not give it a try. So far, it works great. I wish they offered the tape in 1.5". For my application, I needed to trim a 2" wide roll.

Performing well despite atypical installation
Instead of using this product as a slipping prevention measure for feet, I've been using this product the last few weeks on the bottoms of wooden door stops/wedges to hold doors open. The wood was too smooth and slid too easily on the facility's tile and smooth sealed concrete floors, so I figured I'd give this stuff a try. Despite not being used for its intended purpose, I'd say the results are pretty good. It's sticking beautifully to the sanded but otherwise raw 2x4 lumber and provides a lot of solid grip. Some of the doors do still slide closed anyway, but given that this isn't how the product is intended to be used, I'm not going to fault it for this. Just by handling the tape, it's easy to tell that, when used properly, the non-slip surface would do a great job keeping feet from slipping. Also, given how well it adheres when improperly installed, I can imagine how well it would perform long-term if installed properly. The best part about this tape, though, is that it's a rubber-like gritty texture instead of an actual sandpaper product, which was an important distinction for me. I wanted a product that wouldn't scratch up the floor finish, and that's exactly what I got. I already have half a dozen ideas in mind for other ways to use this tape, and only one of them is for the actual intended purpose.

UPDATED: Comfortable for Bare Fingers Too
UPDATE: After more than a year of daily use, the piece of tape I used for the thumb rest has begun to shift up on to the first thumb button. The other pieces have stayed but the grippiness has become slightly dull. Time to replace.Original review below:This review is for the Black 2"x15' size.I am actually using this tape to improve the grip of my gaming mouse. The plastic on my mouse has gotten slippery after many months of usage so I started looking for ways to improve the grip. Most grip tape products out there are just sandpaper with adhesive backing, like what you'd use on a skateboard. Sandpaper is too sharp for prolonged contact with skin. It's fine for shoe soles but I needed something for my fingers to grip. I found these and the title said "Comfortable for Bare Foot." I can confirm they are comfortable for bare fingers too. This tape is very easy to work with. I was able to cut it to shape with a normal pair of scissors. The adhesive backing is sealed with a thin plastic film that you peel away when you're ready to stick it on. This is good because I was able to cut it into the perfect shape and dry fit it before committing to sticking it down and boy does it stick down. The adhesive is very strong as it is meant for foot traffic. Hopefully it will stay in place and not move around over time. The rubberized surface is rough and sort of looks like sandpaper, but it is not at all sharp and provides good friction without being sticky or tacky. It adds about 1mm of thickness so that is something to consider if you're using this for hand grips but definitely no danger of tripping over the thickness of this tape with your feet. With 15 feet I have plenty of spares and I'm already planning to use it for other things like hand tools and rails. Overall I like this product and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

Easy to use
Great product. I cut to size and shape to put on the treads of a step stool that my dogs use. Looks very nice and was super easy to do. The surface is slightly rough, but is not bothering my dogs feet at all. Of course, it works well for humans too.

Doesn't stick to Trex
Love the texture, color, traction, etc of the product. Does't stick well to Trex, however. I thoroughly cleaned the surface of all steps. Seemed OK for a few days... now the corners as well as the long edges is coming loose.

works really well
I got this to put on some hardwood stairs. The grain on the wood was parallel to the edge of the steps and in anything but bright light it was really hard to see where the edges of the steps were. And the glossy varnish on the wood was also a bit slippery. I got one roll of this to try out, did a couple of steps with it and used it for a few months. It worked out very well, so we got some more to finish the job.It is quite easy to apply. A 3 ft length lays down straight with minimal effort. For a 6 ft length it does want to bow a little bit. Until you press it down fully, it is pretty easy to lift it back up and try again. And, it is quite comfortable when barefoot.

Super on engineered wood
Didn't need a whole roll, however,Cut small squares for each step. Easy to place and peel up and stick again if needed. No residue, sticks and stays. Nice and thin, comfortable on bare feet. There is a soft rubbery grit. Makes it easy and safe to navigate stairs, especially going down as you can't see risers. Very happy with purchase. Good price too. Sorry for some reason I could not add photos, but looks great!

Great product
Very impressed. I slipped off the spa stairs and this certainly prevents falls now. Even with ice it seems to give your foot something to grab on to.

Nice grippy tape that can be used multiple ways
I was looking for a way to make my cell phone case feel more secure in my hand and not feel like sandpaper. This tape is awesome! I added this to the contact areas of the case and it made my phone much more secure. No more worries about dropping the phone when sliding it out of my jacket pocket, or on a rainy day.
