Good Book but only BLACK AND WHITE, not color as shown on webpage
I purchased this book for my grandson who is ill. When I looked at the sample pages on the website the illustrations were shown in full color. However, when my grandson started reading the book, it was all in black and white.I rated it 3-stars because the information is good and well presented.I am very disappointed in Amazon that they would not only mislead potential buyers on what they are going to get, but they also ignored a review from almost a month ago pointing out this misleading webpage.

The Kindle edition is in color
I haven't started reading the book yet, but wanted to let everyone know that the Kindle edition is in color. Perhaps it doesn't appear in color on a Black and White Kindle, but it's in color on my computer and iPad Kindle apps.

Book content is good but it is in black and white
The book content is good. But, beware! This book is not in printed in color! The online preview suggests the book is printed in color. But it is not. The paper version is printed in gray scale. Of particular concern are the diagrams for four projects. The text does not even mention the actual color of the parts. Also, the screenshots of the EV3 brick LCD are almost illegible.I'm giving the book one star because the Amazon description does not mention that the book is not in color. I find this deceptive.

All pictures in the book is Black Whilte
The book is informative. However, all the illustrations and pictures in the book are black and while. Honestly most picture is quite difficult to see, for example page 30, Figures 2-1. This make the whole book look like those pirated copy. And don't be fooled by the "Click and to LOOK inside", which is with color picture and illustration. Action copy is not.

Not sure where to begin with EV3? Then this book is a neccessity,
Learnig how to program the new EV3 Brick can be daunting if you are not familiar with its operation. This book starts at the basics and takes you through some moderate to complex ideas. Great format for incorporating into any classes if you teach robotics.

The gyro sensor code in 3-25 has a good chance of spinning the robot forever
This book has issues that should have been caught by the editor and/or tech reviewer. Here are a few:Referring to motor power as RPM. Sure, they're related, but they're not the same. 100 power is more than 100rpm under most situations. The book gives a non-working line-follower code in Figure 3-23. That code will never produce a straight-line / line-follower. That code produces a robot that gets to a black spot and sits there. The gyro sensor code in 3-25 has a good chance of spinning the robot forever, since it doesn't allow the value to hit > or < 90. A little gyro sensor stutter will cause the robot to spin. The code in figure 4-27 has comments saying touch sensors are in ports 1 and 4, but the code shows two block with port 2. A user trying to implement this code would actually have to have both touch sensors pressed before starting the program, since there's no wait or loop in this code. There are better resources, including the free tutorials in the Lego Education version of the EV3 software (which is a free download) and several websites.

Errors and poor proff read
I gave this two stars because of errors and bad proof reading. For example the power function on the move block is referred to as its RPM. The only relation to RPM is more power the faster it turns. The book says 50 is 50 RPM, wrong its 50% of the power applied to the motor. Some good examples using the math logic blocks are explained.

Not sure where to begin with EV3? This book is for you!
I checked out the ebook because I was looking to see how difficult programming EV3 was before dropping $300+. I'm so glad that I did! This book walks you through in great detail how to get up and running with a Mindstorms EV3 project. The illustrations are great, colorful and plentiful in the ebook. I learned a ton about the different sensors and brick programming options. If you are going to spend the money on the EV3, this book is a definite must have as well.
