This thing is great if you go into it with realistic expectations.First, it does really need to be strongly attached to the legs of something. it comes with little weighted bases, which help keep the pulleys from moving, but they definitely don’t provide enough weight to resist the force that would be required to keep the line taught. It’s also important to properly angle the anchor points in a direction such that the force of the line is pulling centrally, rather than favoring one side over another. If the pulley isn’t positioned correctly, it is much more likely to tip over when cats disturb the line.The battery life is not great, so setting up the motor pulley near an outlet makes the most sense.My cats love this. Sometimes it doesn’t necessarily entice them to chase, rather i will find each one of my 4 at various points of the circuit lazily swatting the toys as they go by. They do chase it sometimes also, but either way it is stimulating for them and they do gravitate to it when it turns on.I love the timer settings; having the unit run for 15 minutes and shutting off for 2 hours 5 times in a row before turning off is PERFECT. Even a limited amount of resistance stops the string from continuing around the circuit, which means that i don’t have to worry about my cats if i am out of the room or even just gone when it turns on. For liability purposes, obviously, you are advised not to run it with your cats unsupervised, but i can’t see a situation where this particular toy would be dangerous without supervision.The remote is useless.Some suggestions; possibly adding more timer settings to allow for more runs per hour or running for fewer total hours would be cool, though not having them is not a dealbreaker. Another cool feature would be short bursts of a different speed periodically, rather than just a general speed setting.I will probably buy a few more of these for different areas of the house. It has been worth the money in the last 2 weeks alone. Hopefully it holds up.

This cat toy is AWESOME! My cats were absolutely obsessed with it for the first month! Of course their cats so you have to put it away awhile til they forget it & then when you bring it back out, it's brand new again.The parts of this toy are very high quality, the toy works while plugged in and it comes with enough string for quite a few changes in a large area.This toy is rather expensive but well worth the money on day 1!! The only downside is it shuts off after only 15 minutes and doesn't come back on for two hours! It's not a big enough downside to change my star rating or effect my feeling on how worth it it is, but would be nice to have it go longer.I read through the reviews and someone mentioned putting a rubber band around the main part and they couldn't have been more helpful! Gotta have a rubber band!I highly recommend this toy if you love to watch your cats having the best time, such an awesome toy!!

Our cat doesn't tend to play on her own, so when we saw a video of a toy similar to this, we immediately went on the lookout. It took a while, but we finally found this and tried it out. She immediately took to it and was very engaged. She doesn't chase it constantly, but it holds her attention for much longer than other toys, even other motorized toys we've tried.It comes with a very long length of rope than can be cut to multiple lengths for different kinds of "tracks" around different areas of the house. We cut the first one large enough to go around our living room couch then a second a bit smaller for places like my office or the dining room.I used Command strips to help anchor the bases to the three smaller wheels and it's working decently so far. Sometimes when using the rope on only two wheels it can get stuck on itself, so I recommend using at least three, even if it's a very tight triangle as that seems to help a lot with preventing snags.The little attachments that come with it are 50/50. The little worms/fuzzy things are very nice quality, our cat seems to like them a lot, and the colors are very cute, but the papery strings were immediately tossed in the trash because our cat has a history of eating tassels and things like that, which we don't want to encourage.I definitely like this toy and appreciate that the chirping sound can be turned off easily. It's easy to control the speed using the knob or remote. I wish the remote could turn it off and on, but I understand why it can't since the off/on switch is a flip switch instead of just a button. Very happy with this and would recommend!
