Good Inexpensive Alternative
A little awkward to use, but I am still on a learning curve and I am using it for a Stihl 661--which is big bear. I can say it is quite nifty to use for my two smaller chainsaws as sometimes we get close to finishing a job and need to file the chain to finish the job. And that means I don't have to head back home and come out the next day to finish up.

good basic tool
basic product that performed well. It is inexpensive and does the job of holding chainsaw bar stable in the woods. Inevitably, the teeth on the bar will dull- either from wear, you forgot to sharpen before you went into the woods, or you hit something you shouldn't. this vise is easily knocked into a downed tree and the clamp secures the bar well. Use it near the tip of your bar (depending on length) to stabilize one end/ the end is stabilized by weight of motor.

Great Product
Excellent product. This holds the chainsaw bar in place very well so you can use two hands to sharpen your chain saw chain. Very well made and for the price well worth the money.

Disappointed
Merely adequate tool. I haven't needed to use this tool yet, but it seems like it would do the intended job. However, I opened the package to discover a rusty thumb screw. I can understand it rusting after some use, but I don't expect it rusted new in the package. Someone failed to even look in the package.Edited to add that the thumb screw is different than pictured. I think the wing nut screw would be easier to tighten than the thumb screw that is on my vise.

Nothing no better than to be able to sharpen your chain in ...
this is the bomb as my kids say. Nothing no better than to be able to sharpen your chain in the feild just as you could at home in the vise. IT IS VERY STABLE, I have recommended this to all the guys that I help cut and bust wood with. They also love it. They have always wondered how I cut more wood with a sligthly smaller saw than they. They finally found out my secret of keeping my saw sharp.

Good vise but I made some improvements
Good vise but I made some improvements :) More leverage on handle and sharpened spikes with file. Works good now!

this is not good. To this end
It's okay. Made in China...It does do what it was intended to do; hold your saw blade. My biggest grip is the bolt is hard to turn. You need a pair of pliers to turn it. In the field, this is not good. To this end, it would help if the end of the bolt; the part you turn, had a handle on it for ease of turning. Otherwise, it does work helping me sharper the chainsaw while in the field.
