Wrist Swivel Mount-360 Degrees- for Your GoPro Hero 1/2/3/3+ Action Camera

A great little piece for your kit. Good and the bad below: So far, I've used it in the ocean filming Great Whites and on the ski slopes. Link to video. Used this wrist mount and Xshot selfie pole: http://youtu.be/Z63oKek_g9kGood: I love how I can pretty easily lock/unlock the swivel control on the fly to capture me or turn to catch my subjects while skiing, etc. I found that I don't have to lock it and it stays pretty well still (even down bumpy slopes). It lasted through the ocean with no corrosion. I did make sure to rinse it well right when we got back to shore.Bad: The lock is extremely helpful (again not always necessary depending on action) but is a little tough to engage/dis-engage. I was able to do it with thin gloves but it took some playing.The straps could be beefier and longer. I can tell that the padded material is starting to wear. The outer velcro was long enough to get around my jacket layers the padding was not. Fits a regular wrist fine but not with jacket layers in the snow.Overall - very happy with the price and the purchase and will most likely buy again if/when this wears out due to my using it for many shoots.

Out of all my mounts, I use this the most. Really easy to get on and off. Also very easy to swivel 360 while wearing it. Only thing to be cautious of is if you knock it or push on the gopro hard enough it while wearing it, the mount comes out of the swivel. Happened to me twice (admittedly while hiking through a glacial crevasse though so lots of potential for it to happen in such a small space). Never lost the gopro and was fairly easy to pop it back into the swivel. But definitely wouldn't use it in a situation with similar conditions where I know I wouldn't be able to just pick it up off the ground. Used it since while kayaking and used a tether to the plastic buckle just in case. Not a deal breaker as this this has gotten me some shots of a lifetime but just have a backup tether or floaty backdoor for peace of mind.

Good for my needs but only if you eventually get one that works! Product varies between sellers. First one I received didn't lock into position and didn't include the thin tether in the description. Second one is better: locks and has a shiny finish, but still no tether, so I re-purposed a camera wrist strap for this since my ultimate goal is to use this for scuba diving. Title states "by GPInstyle" , but its clear that there are different versions and of varying quality sold by different sellers. The original version by GP InStyle I noticed just created a separate item listing on Amazon titled: "GP InStyle Wrist Swivel Mount-360 Degrees- For Your GoPro Hero 1/2/3/3+ Action Camera -Plus Thin Line Tether" but I found out that their photos are not correct either since it shows only 2, not the 4 rivets it has, and it has a shiny finish, not the matt one, but they do still include the tether. This explains the different reviews for this product, including questions of who the purchaser ordered from.

This wrist strap is made well and does exactly what it's supposed to do. The mechanism that holds the camera swivels and locks into place with a click.I didn't care for the footage that I got when using the strap though. Was too hard to keep it on the subject while snorkeling. Maybe it's better for other things but if I had it to do over I'd spend more for the googles with the mount.

This is a very nice product with one exception. After I used the wrist strap one time the nut is showing signs of corrosion. Maybe they didn't use a stainless steel nut? The wrist strap holds well to the wrist and the 360 degree swivel works very well. I have used the wrist strap many, many times and other than the rust it is holding up very well. I would recommend this product.

Update: After previously giving a favorable review, I'm sorry to report that I can no longer recommend this product. As other reviewers have reported, the swivel pops off. Mine did today in very small surf. I was paddling back out and went through some white wash, nothing heavy at all. Suddenly, I felt something dangling from my wrist - my GoPro! Fortunately, I had used the tether that comes with the swivel wrist mount and it's what saved my GoPro from sinking to the bottom of Doheny State Beach. I really wanted to love this product, but given the fact that the mount is not secure, there's no way I can recommend this in good conscience. If you do purchase this, you absolutely must use the tether because it's not a question of "if" your mount will pop off, it's a question of when. Having said that, I'm sending mine back for a replacement because I paid for it and there is a lifetime guarantee - though I doubt this product will stay on the market long, given its tragic flaw.Previous review: I've used this wrist mount a total of 6 times now and have mixed feelings about it. When it works, it's awesome! When it doesn't, it's frustrating and leaves me wondering why I bothered wearing it. I've used it in small to mid sized surf and haven't had any problems with the mount falling off as some reviews have mentioned. My issue is that the lock mechanism is not reliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've found that if I wear the strap with the loop facing towards me and the screw facing the inside of my wrist, it works perfectly. This seems to be the work around for this problem, at least for me.I own the GoPro wrist strap, but prefer this one, even with the locking issues. It's so cool to be able to switch angles of the camera - I've shot video of myself on a wave and then instantly switched to forward facing to catch my friend's rides. Pretty sweet! Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase and would definitely buy again.
