Scott Cohen's Outdoor Kitchen Design Workbook: Inspiring Ideas and Tips from HGTV's Sizzling Outdoor Kitchen Designer

Recently we started thinking about the renovation of our backyard, in particular with an outdoors kitchen. As usual when I start a job of even a lesser magnitude than this, I buy 10-12 books on the subject to gather a wide array of ideas and try to become as knowledgeable as possible before I even talk to contractors or designers.And, this is the book that stands out from the rest. While most other books are merely collection of photos of beautiful projects, this one also gives a number of design principles, a methodology, questions you have to answer to to better understand your own needs, that in my opinion is the most difficult part of any project. Very recommended!

Nice book, but all the out door kitchens were meant for the South or extremely contemporary. None of them would have been suitable for the lifestyle up here on the countryside of New Hampshire. I wish he had included more options, they were all relatively similar. I'll keep looking.

Nice pictures and a few basic ideas on siting and amenities. Too much time and space on adding extra "fancy" stuff like stars and petals and lights in the counter tops.

I learned very little from this book, and the kitchens pictured were kind of cheesy looking. I would only recommend this if you are very interested in concrete countertops, because the book goes in depth on this subject. Otherwise, go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy the book from Better Homes and Gardens...many more ideas, and more information...

Great book for the rookie builder or the do it your selfer outdoor kitchen builder. Good construction ideas and how to's.

Good book for ideas! It's not as detailed as I was hoping for, but still a good value!

The book did not give me directions on how to build an outdoor kitchen. It gave only pictures of elaborate outdoor kitchens. This book is for the more experienced builder.

This book was a gift and he seems to really like it. The recipient is planning an outdoor kitchen and this book should be very helpful.A good price point I thought.
