Thick French/African Hot Chocolate - European Style

not really a fan, nothing like the Italian choc of my earlier years, so now I just make it myself from scratch

Unusual, but good.

If you're looking for an incredibly rich (almost to the point of bitter) chocolate, this is for you. I made the hot chocolate as directed, but I am used to American style cocoa, so I didn't appreciate it. The chocolate is more like a mousse/pudding. I added additional vanilla and a small amount of almond extract to help with the bitterness. The box is adorable and has a delicate look. There is no need to wrap it, if you're looking to gift it. Lastly, I felt that the amount suggested for two servings could actually be three. It's so rich that placing it in shot glasses for multiple people instead of the suggested espresso cups for two would be appropriate. I'm glad I tried it and would eat/drink? it again. Next time I make it I'll probably place it in a bowl and add strawberries and/or raspberries to eat like a mousse.
