Very useful and practical thumb support
I have something called trigger thumb which causes my thumb joint to be very painful and difficult to bend. Since using this, my pain has reduced considerably. What I like is that the velcro around the thumb area allows the user to adjust the tightness to their liking, so the thumb doesn't feel too loose or too squashed. The strap at the bottom is also adjustable so can fit most wrist sizes.I have taken off a star because the stitches around the metal support came loose (see pictures) after only 6 or so weeks of use, which means that it no longer stays in place properly. The seller was very helpful, however, and offered a free replacement under their warranty policy, so I am overall pleased with the product and recommend buying it if you have problems with your thumb like me.

Good Product.
I bought this on the advice of my doctor to help relieve a trigger thumb condition.POSITIVES - Provides excellent support and relief at a very reasonable price.NEGATIVES - After a while I found the Velcro fasteners tended to ‘dig in’ a little bit at both the thumb and wrist fastening. I have overcome this problem by using a short length of tubular bandage at both locations and this renders the brace totally comfortable for extended periods of use.OVERALL - I’m very pleased with this product and it provides considerably better support than other braces I have tried. Also, the item was well packaged and sent very promptly.

good value
Although these thumb splints were of decent quality they were not the right ones for me i found that when i eventually went about my problem to the hospital that they were not the right item for me as they were to long for my thumb as you need to be able to move your thumb about for circulation purposes as with any splint you should be able to wiggle your fingers so they don't get stiff, They were a reasonable price but i wasted my money now i've got 2 splints that are useless.

Good item and price
Was not sure what to expect with this but am really pleased with this item. I get bad arthritis in my thumb. This can be a problem after being on the PC all day. This gives me relief due to compression and restricted movement. The item is well made and adjustable at the wrist and around the thumb. There is a metal shank that can be removed if you want a not more flexibility. My only suggestion for this item is for the manufacturer to substitute the standard Velcro for soft touch Velcro to avoid any snagging onto clothing

Brilliant value - Buy it!
Brilliant value - save your money and buy this one. I have trigger finger (thumb actually). I bought this one and an more expensive one £19.00! at the same time. They both work as well as one another so this is far better value. I wear it all day and take off at night. It does the job and leaves my thumb and lower joint bereft of painful swelling. I am going to use it for a few weeks and hope the problem disappears. All in all - a brilliant product and result. P.S. It is made of neoprene fabric and appears to look as though it will last well.P.s. update 1 week after purchase: as mentioned in other reviews the steel support that runs up the thumb support has worn thru the fabric. Quickly addressed by wife who sewed up and reinforced top where it can thru. Suggest that you reinforce when 1st purchased and you will have no trouble - still 5 stars for value tho'

Doctor recommended
I'd strained the ligaments in my thumb. One doctor said it would take 4 - 6 weeks to get better but after 4 weeks I went to a sports injury clinic and it finished up even worse. I'd been using a sports wrist support, then bought one that also supported the wrist and lower part of the hand. After 5 weeks a different doctor showed my this support which includes a metal bar which runs up the side on the thumb. I've found this really helpful in stopping me using my thumb. The design is good: one size fits all and either hand. I highly recommend this product for anyone else that needs to limit how much they use their thumb. It is certainly helping my recovery. When you're 74, your body heals slower than when you're younger. 4 - 6 weeks recovery might be right for young people but I'm going to be at least 8 weeks and probably more.Product shipped very quickly arriving one day earlier than predicted.

Ok but could be bigger
This could be bigger there should be a size option not one size fits all. The idea is that it immobelizes the joint and this struggles to do this as it is the top joint on my thumb that is affected, Two weeks on and unless you keep your thumb still it slips and the velcro starts to become less effective. This splint could be half an inch bigger to function better. Having had this now since April the compartment that houses the metal plate has started too come apart, I have tried to re-stitch it back but without much success.
