Drye Balls- Clothes Dry Fluffy Soft With Less Wrinkles- Set of 2

I have been using the Dryer ball for 5 weeks, it worked great. But today while drying some shirts,one of the plastic nubs cracked and fell off, and another part of the ball cracked. I only use low or medium heat settings, never hot. Is this unusual? Do I have a defective one?

They do exactly what you want. They beat alot of the wrinkles out in the dryer.
