Security Boss Giant Breed Patio Pet Door Large 15 x 28 Flap Insert for Sliding Doors 70-99" Track Heights

Sturdy construction. Installation reasonably easy although door is quite heavy, and not easy for one person to manipulate. Got my newfie to help. Requires a little invention to get a tight seal between dog door and sliding glass door.The panel is mounted into the track of the sliding glass door. It is held in on the top and bottom by a spring mounted top panel held in place by set screws once properly positioned. The top is further held tightly in position by a pin lock (not supplied) for the sliding glass door on the top, and by dowel rods (also not supplied) on the bottom track of the sliding glass door. If you do this right, you should get a very tight seal between the doggie door and the sliding glass door. You will probably need to do both of these things in order to achieve both a tight seal, and a square installation. Perhaps not important in mild climates, but necessary if you have four seasons. Locking hardware in the recipient end of the sliding door will need to be removed (usually just two Phillips screws) to install doggie door tightly in door frame.Clear doggie flap panel is quite robust, and magnets work well. Removable security panel for flap door is stout.The doggie door obviates any lock function on the sliding glass door. If you are using a pin lock, you will need to re-drill the hole in the top of the sliding glass door frame. You should also plan on placing custom dowels in the bottom of the sliding door track to provide for security, and for tight bottom fit. Not hard, but necessitates a trip to the hardware store. Easiest to fabricate dowels if you possess a jig saw.If you get the giant dog door (for my 150 pound newfie), the sliding glass door will be impassible for normal size humans, assuming your slider is the normal size. Unless you want to crawl thru the doggie door. Not a problem for me but need to bear in mind.I was impressed that this is a sturdy, well-engineered and designed product. Install not easy, but not hard. Rather expensive, but I have never regretted buying the best available product. Think this qualifies.Highly recommended.Shipped promptly

I had a hard time finding a patio dog door large enough for my 115lb German shepherd to fit through. Every extra large door I bought was so small he had to squeeze through it. Plus they did not seal well enough to keep the cold out. The flap did not stay closed in the wind and would warp. These were pet safe brand which I'll never buy again. This dog door is high quality top grade, I love it! Security boss is the brand to buy!

I made a special effort to do this review. Almost never do reviews. This dog door is enormous. I am a size large person, and I can fit through the door quite easily. Our dog is a German shepherd who is very skittish and has no experience with this sort of thing.The flap is just right to help her get over her fear. the size of it is perfect so that she doesn't come to contact with anything except the flap and she goes through. This thing is robust, this thing is stout.I love everything about it and I totally recommend it.I return loss of things toAmazon, and very picky. If you are concerned about the price of this, I think it's worth it. Nobody prompted me to write this!

I have a Newfoundland and an older corgi. Their dog door needed a low enough lip for the corgi, but tall enough and wide enough to let my newfie feel comfortable and safe using. We went through every make and model, even interviewed a few glass/window/door companies who all estimated $16-20k!!! Luckily I came across an ad for this company and felt $500 was definitely worth a shot. Both dogs love their new found freedom. It seals better than expected. At first it was a little unnerving that I cannot lock the patio, but was able to lock tight the dog door and add an alarm. Also what burglar is going to push a 200lbs bear out of the way lol. Incredibly grateful a company cares this much about family's with each extreme side pets and that it is well built.

I ordered this because my second GD puppy at 8 months was already about the weight of my 7.5 year GD (90-100lbs)... knowing that Rogue would likely be 120-150lbs full grown, I ordered this door. It's pricey, no doubt about it, BUT it's well worth it! I've had multiple XL doggie doors, but never a giant dog breed door - this is by far bigger (wider and taller flap, lower rise, which is better for my long legged girls :)) and the insulation/sturdiness is impressive. Worth the price!!

Excellent sturdy door. I built a new home and it was properly sized the frame of my slider had a 2 inch lip that the door was not able to go over, and it was to wide , which wouldn’t allow a human to walk through even if i could of installed. But this was a quality door.. hands down, would of been a great door for me. I do Recommend it if you have a larger slider and not the the new type of frame.

This door is substantial. You can tell it is made well and of quality material. Superb exterior window and doggie door. We received the door in 4 business days. It was a little heavy for two old folks but it went right in and was the easiest item we have ever installed. The opening for the dog flap is the 15x28 and we love it for our 3 German Shepherds. We are so happy with this purchase!

This is a great door. It took a little while for my dogs to get used to it but it's worked out very well. Even my cats use it. I got the huge one because I have a big German Shepherd. Glad I got the bigger one. It's very sturdy. Expect a little plastic-like or similar smell for a little while until it airs out. The smell does go away, so don't panic. We had to maneuver it a little on the install but it worked out. There's not much space to go in and out in once it's in - so be warned. If you're carrying food out to the grill or something similar, go out a different door. It can be done but it's tricky and definitely a sideways slide.
