Lovely nib and smooth writer
I like this pen.Pros: the Jowo nib is very smooth, comfortable to hold and not too heavy, well-made, understated looksCons: it may be a bit expensive, but I think that it compares well with more expensive pens.

Platinum Piston fill fountain pen
I am very happy with this piston Asvine J16 fountain pen. It has a nice weight to it and looks lovely. I purchased the fine tip, as that is what I prefer. I suffer with arthritis in my hands and had been unable to use the fountain pen I had for years. This pen is comfortable in my hand and I wrote for a few hours with it, with no problems. The ink flowed properly and never stopped once. I used the Parker Quink ink meant for fountain pens, not the ink for the glass nib pens. I am happy that I'm able to get another of the good brands of nibs, to allow me to interchange the size of my writing when I feel like it.I feel I have value for the money I spent for this pen and I look forward to a long time in writing.Customer service have been very helpful with regard additional instructions for filling with the piston. There are also helpful instructions on Youtube.

A fat 'Broad' nib.
This is a nice heavy pen that feels well balanced. I have the Broad Nib that I would describe as fairly fat. Works well with shimmer or particle inks that I have tried, as long as you find the right paper for that type of ink. I have had good results with Octopus Medusa, Fairy and Djiin inks- brilliant on those cheap shiny birthday cards, you get a very noticeable sheen and colour shift! I write in a fairly big and flamboyant style and this pen is perfect for that. If you are the type that begrudges ink, this Broad Nib won't suit you at all and you should probably get a Fine Nib, or a bic ballpoint. Also works nicely with Waterman Inspired Blue, Tender Purple, Harmonious Green, Audacious Red and Intense Black Ink. Tried it with a Golden Yellow sparkle ink from Online Ink and that gave the best result that I have had with that particular ink out of the various pens and nib sizes that I have tried. I also draw with my fountain pens, perhaps more than I write and this pen is great for thicker lines and shading. No comments to add about looks as I actually use them as opposed to look at them! It is an attractive pen, though.

Sleek, well built and well balanced.
Although the relatively high price for this Chinese brand seems expensive, the quality matches Japanese and German brands, and the look, build and feel are excellent. The Jowo nib was well tuned and the finish of the metal on all parts is very fine. Being titanium, it is light and feels good in your hand. I'm impressed, can recommend it as a great looking addition on your desk.

Another winner from Asvine
This marks my 5th Asvine fountain pen and the first Asvine to come with a Jowo nib. The <F> Jowo is closer to an Asvine branded <EF> nib, which may be a bit too fine for some. If I had the option to redo the order, I'd probably pick the <M> nib instead as I was kind of hoping for something closer to the Asvine <F> line width when I ordered. I've attached an image showing nib size comparisons for each of the Asvines I have on Rhodia Dot 80 gsm paper, it might help someone make a more informed decision as regards the line width you can expect from the <F> nib at least (the only other Jowo <M> I have is a custom grind CSI so wouldn't be relevant for comparison purposes here). Don't think though that I'm complaining about the <F> line width - I'm not. This pen is an absolute joy to use on any of the Hobonichi products that have the 3.7mm graph layout. The J16's Jowo nib is perfectly tuned (and worth mentioning): smooth, wet and consistent flow throughout. I've never had a bad Asvine pen delivered yet and this purchase does not disappoint.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and the writing experience with this pen. I read some of the other reviewer's concerns about the pen not handling drops and the like too well. But let's face it, FPs aren't designed to be dropped from ANY height, capped or uncapped. I'm overly careful with my FPs so that's not really an issue for me. Plus, I only ever take really cheap fountain pens outside the house with me - at least this way I know that if I drop or lose a pen, I'll be more upset at losing the ink than the pen should I be so clumsy...

Faulty
Pen looks nice… until you try to use it! Piston does not move inside the pen, so it can’t be filled up. Avoid!

Very functional, reliable pen for the price
The quality is good, and it's now functioned perfectly for me for several weeks. I find that the balance works well for me, and though it is lighter than many all metal fountain pens, it has a satisfying hefty in my hand.Further, I love JoWo nibs, and so love that this is included as standard. I've tried a change from the medium nib I had included at purchase with a broad nib. Both work beautifully, and so I would also point to the upgrade-ability of this pen.
