AN EXCELLENT BOOK THAT COULD EASILY BE TRANSLATED TO FILM!
I throughly enjoyed this book and I can recomend it to anyone who is a fan of Halo or just likes a good read. I found to my delight that there are quite a few excellent battle scenes, in space and on the ground, that would translate very well into a film!*************************************************************************************The book deals with some of the early events in the careers of the Spartan cybernetic-soldiers, as-well as the key events leading up to the fall of the planet REACH including humanity's first contact with the unyielding Covenent.

Well written and enjoyable from the first page.
You get to see the human side of the Master Chief, something you don't really see until game 4.How he handles his responsibility and that he fears the enemy just like other soldiers do, he just doesn't show his team or the enemy what goes on in is head!

The best read
As a small fan of the game franchise. I fancied finding out more of the back story to the games. The book did not disappoint from the little details to the action packed battles. A brilliant read for a hardcore fan or someone brand new to the franchise although by the end you will be a big fan of Halo.

if not the best one. This is a must have if you ...
This was the first Halo book I read and even though I have read many others since , this is still one of my favourties, if not the best one. This is a must have if you like Halo, especially since it explains the events prior to the first game so well. Delivery from Wordery was satisfactory and the book was in great condition.

To infinity and beyond!
As a MASSIVE fan of the HALO franchise, it’s perhaps surprising that it has taken me this long to get into the books. Maybe it’s because I’m not a huge sci-fi reader. Regardless, I decided to take the leap into space and join the Master Chief and his team of Spartan badasses on their mission to rid the universe of the Covenant threat.HALO: The Fall of Reach is the first book in the series and follows the path of John as he moves through the ranks eventually becoming the famed Master Chief. This is definitely not hard sci-fi, this is pulpy action-packed reading that requires little knowledge of the game to be enjoyed though fans of the game will love the appearances of key figures from the HALO universe. The book is well paced throughout. The space battles are exciting to read about particularly the early exchanges between the Covenant and the humans in which we fully understand what they are up against. The Covenant are brutal, efficient killing machines who only have one thing in mind…extermination! But even these don’t hold a candle to the scenes with the Spartans. I got goosebumps several times whilst reading about the Master Chief destroying all who cross him and his team. He really is the ultimate badass and Nylund does a great job of bringing him to life on the page whilst keeping his character faithful to the game. I was a little concerned that most of the book would focus on John’s training and that very little would feature the Master Chief. I’m pleased to report I was wrong and whilst there are certainly a few chapters dedicated to the training, I felt they didn’t drag.HALO: The Fall of Reach feels like but a drip in the ocean and the scope is there to expand throughout this universe indefinitely. This book will easily please casual sci-fi readers with its full-throttle action scenes and engaging characters. I’ll certainly be exploring other books in the series. To infinity and beyond! (oh, wait! That’s the wrong character!).4/5 plasma grenades from the Grim Reader

Excelente Narrativa

Where it all began..
I've been a huge fan of the videogame series and have played every single title since it came out, of course I'm a big fan of the Master Chief, I enjoyed this book since the very beginning, It gives you a lot of information about the UNSC and how it all began, and it is perfect as a SCI-FI novel, even though it came from a videogame, at first I had my doubts because of that, but after reading a couple of chapters, oh boy was I wrong, after reading the fall or reach, I love the Master chief even more!.

Engaging
Probably the only Eric Nylund book without serious tense, spelling and grammatical error. That said, the man can still write a good, fast moving, engaging book. The only thing I didn't like, was the quick, almost skimmed over early days, and years of the Spartan II program, more time could certainly be spent talking about this, as to me, this was sort of the point of the book...Chief's early years...which comprised maybe two chapters. All in all, a good read.

Wonderful! Enjoyable!
Love reading it.. still at chapter 6 or something but its smooth and wonderful.. Right now, I'm learning about how Master Chief was trained and made as a SPARTAN during his very little years of age(kidnapped, yea, with 74 other kids).. It's cool.. go for it!! I started reading Halo novels just now, with this. Ye!!

Spartans
I rather enjoyed reading the books for the HALO universe... this helps flesh out the world so much more than the games do... especially meeting the younger Spartans.

Amazing
Best book ever. Maybe not ever, but really really good. Goes very in depth about the Spartans training and how intense they are. Also explains the covenant in great detail that the games just simply don't do. Highly recommended.

Must buy
I was never into reading books until I discovered the Halo books. If you're interested in Halo, Sci-Fi or just an amazing series of connected books with games linked to them, go for it. You certainly won't regret giving it a shot.
