The Sentinel

The Sentinel a selection of stories by Arthur C. Clarke.
I have been a lifelong fan of Arthur C Clarke's books. The Sentinel is a selection of his stories from the 1950's 60's and 70's. It was a revelation to read his early stories again (two of them I had not read before which was a special treat) to realise how good the writing was even then. His stories of space travel are absolutely captivating, every new book published was never a disappointment, they were all fascinating and held me spellbound. Who can replace him?

A good read
If you're a classic sci-fi fan you'll like this collection of short stories. Some of them manifest themselves into other Arthur C Clarke books and the others work well on their own. As usual the author gives his characters enough of a background for the reader to get to know them. I've passed round to my family and all have enjoyed this book.

or any other his wonderful worlds, come to that
Had a slight stain on it, but I'm not bothered - it only cost 1p!.....Plus to be in the presence of Arthur C. Clarke is worth all the money and gold in this World...or any other his wonderful worlds, come to that!

Brilliant collection of short stories
Brilliant collection of short stories. The Sentinel is a great story and one everyone is familiar with because of the 2001 Space Odyssey film but there are some real gems in this collection.
