I thought I was ordering hardwood board for my tae kwon do classes. We buy wood boards for the kick demos. I didn’t read the details and when the product arrived, it was a DVD movie. Not just any movie..it was a collection of those grindhouse movies back when our teachers made us kneel on corn kennels if we were late in class. Lo, behold, not just any movie but it was an Ed Wood anthology!!! For those, who didn’t know Wood, pull out your old ouija boards and ask your great-grandparents from the great beyond. He pioneered gritty story-telling and can be considered as the father of independent films. This movie anthology should be included in a master class of adult filmmaking. While older films may not appeal to AI-loving, TikTok-addicted newer generations, his legacy is evident in some of the filmmakers of today.
