Warm & Sensual & Witty
I had not read anything by Jillian Hunter, but a friend recommended that I start the Boscastle family series with 'The Seduction of an English Scoundrel' and what good advice this turned out to be. This is a fun book, with wonderful main characters in Lady Jane Welsham, and Grayson Boscastle, the Marquess of Sedgecroft. Their family members are humorous and fun characters too. The dialogue of the story is warm and witty, and a number of times I laughed out loud as the story unfolded. The sensual scenes are also well crafted. I am looking forward to more stories in the Boscastle family saga.

Very Enjoyable
This is the second book by Jullian Hunter that I've read. I read Devon' story and instantly went out to find the other books in the Boscastle series. I thought Jane and Grayson were a really interesting couple and I loved the fact that they were such a sensual couple. The only drawback to the story was when Grayson plotted "revenge" against Jane. I didn't think that whole scenario did Grayson justice. It didn't quite fit. Perhaps had it had more of an air of fun as oppose to "teaching her a lesson" it might have flowed better. But overall, I thought it was a very enjoyable read and I can't wait to read Chloe's and Gaberial's stories.Dena:0)P.S. I wonder if Brandon is going to rise from the dead????

Fun light read
I loved the characters in this book. All of them are quirky and likable. If you love humorous historical novels, don’t miss this one.

Passion, Seduction, Laughs
This has if all! I have read this series three times and I am starting for my fourth time. The only reason I give this 4 stars only, is because I need an Audio version!! I’m busy, and would love it synced with audio so I might continue the story through out my chores and errands!

Lovable, mischievous characters
I first read this book in 2008ish - it was my introduction into the realm of erotic fiction, so it's got a special place in my heart. I didn't love it quite as much this second time through, but it's great for what it is: an introduction to a lovable family of rogues and their mates. In this story, we meet the head of the family, Grayson Boscastle (the eldest son and notorious lady's man), and watch him interact and fight against a relationship with Jane. She fights against the relationship just as hard, having been jilted at the altar by Grayson's cousin, and having to find her way in polite society now that she is seen as unmarriageable. Grayson and Jane tease and infuriate and develop feelings for each other. But can they get their acts together and have their happily ever after? I give this book 4 stars.

Just okay
Review – may contain spoilersJane is left supposedly humiliated at the alter when her fiance Nigel refuses to show up, except it's actually all going according to her plan. Nigel's cousin Grayson Boscastle feels he must come to her rescue to prevent gossip on the family name while also setting a good example for his out of control family.I find a definite improvement already in Hunter's Boscastle series versus her older work. This story just seemed to flow a bit better. It had her funny, fast paced dialogue I've come to enjoy from her. There are definite funny parts.I wouldn't say it's extremely steamy. A few kisses, a few scenes. While enjoyable, they aren't extremely descriptive or long. One thing that made me sad was once they started happening, much was skipped over, like there is a scene where the heroine is remember what happened the night before and it actually sounded quite fun and interesting and more adventurous than your average scene but you get jipped out of experiencing it.I will admit I am not a stickler for historical accuracy, mostly as I don't have a lot of research done for what was real and what is not possible for the time, but I get the feeling that a lot of this book stems from nonsense haha. I didn't like how fast the hero moved in after the heroine was supposedly devastated and I also didn't like the revenge-ish plot towards the end. Especially the way everyone went on with it, it was a little weird.

Stephanie Laurens Lovers-This is for you!
If you are looking for a series of books, similar to The Mallory's Series-by Jo Beverly and The Cynster Series by Stephanie Lauren's, with the same type of sizzling sex plus a dash of intrigue, then Jillian Hunter's-Boscastle Family series is a definite MUST READ! "The Seduction of an English Scoundrel:A Novel" is the first of the series about the head of the family, The Marquis of Sedgecroft.A series of plots, misunderstandings, one independant female, and seduction, make for a humorous, delightful, and wonderful romp!

It went on a bit in places but the hero is somehow very hot
For me what saves this book is the loveable family and the very dry witted and over confident hero as you totally understand how she fell for him. However the story seemed to drag a lot especially at the end when you are waiting for them to get their HEA it did nothing to enhance the story but just made it so I feel less inclined to read the second book

Nice story
Enjoyed this book but nothing new really and rather predictable. Still, that said, easy reading and amusing in parts. A light undemanding read and I probably would read another in this series before I pass judgement properly.

Best word to describe it? DULL!
This is the first, and most probably last book I will ever read by Jillian Hunter. I found the story slow and rather boring most of the time, and am quite surprised I managed to finish it.The main characters annoyed me, there was too much game playing and I like my books with some intrigue to the story. The only characters I had anytime for were Heath and Chloe, the hero Grayson's younger brother and sister, who apparently have stories of their own, but I doubt I could ever bring myself to read them.Overall, a very disappointing so-called Historical Romance. Certainly not a keeper!
