A Solid Budget Video Transmitter for Mobile Cameras
The Teradek Ace 750 is a great budget option for people in the production landscape looking to add a new mobile camera to their setup. Right out of the box, the transmitter and receiver were connected and would start transmitting video without a setup via the phone controlled app. Our team used it for the first time in our live production and it worked flawlessly without issues of dropping video throughout our auditorium.

This is the same brand we used for touring with big name entertainers!
I really wish I could do some name dropping here, but I can’t. I’ve helped my son out from time to time at his job. He works in the entertainment industry in Nashville putting concert tour packages together. On occasion, he and I go out on the road to help out with running the cameras at the shows. The production company he works for uses this exact brand, just some different models. These are professional quality units. I ordered these for my own use so that when we are shooting our hunting videos or my daughter in laws music videos, we have all of our own gear to do so.These worked flawlessly right out of the box. I attached all the necessary ports and cables (all were included), powered both units on and they worked instantly. I tested the units to 95’ line of site and they worked exactly as expected. I have used Teradek products in the past and this one appears to have the same build quality as all of their other units.I love the fact that this came with all the necessary cables and accessories to get the units working quickly and easily. They are great build quality, they arrived quickly and in great shape. They have good range (95’+) and zero lag. They come with a custom fit pelican dry box for storage and transport. These are very expensive compared to some of the other similar ones out there, but you get what you pay for with these units. These are truly professional quality transmitters and receivers.

Works as expected. No complaints
First off, I'm not using this as a video professional so I can't speak to it's durability or longevity, but just based on the Pelican case it comes with they've definitely put some thought and care into things.I had no issues with setup and the signal remained strong and consistent without issue. I wasn't pushing its range very far, but was going through a couple of walls and it handled that like a champ. It is designed for getting power from your camera so it only has 1 power supply, which I found a little odd but understandable.

Teradek Ace 750 Mixed feelings - needs more info
First, I don't do video production, so my opinion on this product might not be 100% valid. I am just going on how it is described and my use case.First, since this is designed for video production, it does come in a very nice pelican style dry box for lugging to and from shoots which is a nice touch. The foam inserts were very nice, and I can see how having this box and not needing to procure another case for fragile equipment can be helpful. Especially at 999 for the product. As someone who is not familiar with this, it was surprising that it only came with one power adapter, and then a power lead for a camera. So first thing I had to do was get another power adapter. I went to their website and an extra cheap power supply was $108 which I thought was silly. If it was some specific, super high quality power adapter I would understand, but this is a radio shack quality adapter for $108. I guess if you have a big production budget this is a normal price for something simple. But I did find an adapter in my box of adapters that met their voltage requirements printed on the unit and was able to power the second unit. For 999, a second power adapter even if they think most people won't use it seems appropriate to me.The next thing was that at least for my use case, it was not as plug and play as they say. When I first was testing it with a computer to an HDMI input on a tv, I had trouble getting it to establish a connection, but a few restarts of the unit and it eventually worked. Sometimes it worked for a minute or two and then it would stop working, a restart then would solve it for a little while. The main reason why I got this was to run a tv input from my dell desktop at home. For some reason, the sound wouldn't output through the HDMI port but only through the computers built in speakers. I believe this is a driver issue with the computer, because on the first computer I tested it with, it worked fine for sound, and at home, I used my MacBook and it worked easily as well. Now, here is where the 1 star deduction comes in. Maybe it should be two, but I am allowing my unfamiliarity with the product take some of the blame, but they likely should explain the use case better in the description and performance expectations so people know what to look for.I used it to stream video from my laptop to my tv, and while it worked, occasionally the sound would drop for 2-5 seconds and then resume. It wasn't a huge deal if you had subtitles on, but mid video stream I decided to stop using it all together and just hardwire the laptop into the tv with an HDMI cable which kind of defeats the purpose. So while I might have misunderstood its capabilities, considering it says zero latency, this seems like an issue. And since MacBooks are known for being used in the creative field, if there was a computer that should handle this well, IMO it would be this one. I might return this just because it doesn't work as flawlessly as I had hoped, especially for the price. But again, I am not using it for its intended use, so maybe that is my issue and not the product's.
