You can use any number of things to thin Oil Paints, but this is the best for a good reason. It doesn't stink up your studio, it works fast, consistent, and it's clean. Came fast, well packaged and I say it's well worth the price for anyone who uses oil paints!

Having studied Oil Painting for decades Gamsol is the ONLY product I have used. My instructor introduced me to Gamsol and I have been delighted with the results from day one. The consistency has been most reliable and extremely effective. The ease of cleaning my brushes and palette knives makes clean up a dream.

Fast and On time and packed well . I was told this is safer than the old oil brush cleaner and smells better. I wouldn’t use anything else.

I use this for blending oil pastels, Shiva oil sticks, color pencils, and wax crayons. It works beautifully, doesn't leave a super-greasy film, and doesn't have a scent. However, I can pick up a hint of *something* when I use it- just sort of a vapor that isn't pure (that sounds ridiculous but I'm trying to articulate it). For those with sensitivities to chemicals, this seems much less toxic than most, but there's still *something* that may cause issues. However, it's a lot less noxious than other substances I use in my work (including isopropyl alcohol) and it works very well and quickly, so I don't have prolonged exposure. Evaporates quickly, as well, so while it does leave oily residue on porous surfaces, it does go away leaving just the medium.It also works great for getting adhesive off things.
