Installation in the PS5 was straightforward, and it's been a significant upgrade over the console's internal storage, allowing me to install many more titles without constantly juggling space. Value for money is a huge plus here. For the performance it can offer, the ORICO O7000 is competitively priced, making it an excellent option for gamers and creators looking to expand their storage without breaking the bank. Boot times are snappy, and overall system responsiveness in the PS5 feels much improved. However, I've encountered a critical issue that makes me hesitant to fully recommend this drive for PS5 users: severe overheating. While the product description mentions "Fast Heat Dissipation," this has not been my experience in the PS5's confined environment. I consistently receive "M.2 SSD running hot" warnings during gameplay. More concerningly, during extended sessions (sometimes as short as 30 minutes) with demanding titles like WWE 2K25 and Call of Duty: Vanguard, my PS5 has repeatedly shut down due to what appears to be thermal overload from the SSD. This isn't just a minor warning; it's a complete system shutdown, which is highly disruptive and potentially damaging to the console and the drive itself over time. It seems the included heatsink (or the drive's inherent thermal design) is simply not adequate for the thermal demands of the PS5, especially with high-intensity games that put a lot of strain on the SSD. While the drive performs well when it isn't overheating, the frequent shutdowns are a major reliability concern. Update - I purchased a seperate heatsink that hardly costed around Rs 500 and fixed this SSD with the heatsink in the PS5 and now it works perfectly. In a nutshell yes the ssd will heat up without heatsink and not work in your ps5 but with an additional heatsink it fits flawlessly in the PS5 and is now able to support long gaming sessions.

What this ssd is delivering at the price is unbelievable, it's speed and performance is amazing and they also included a decent heat sink which is doing fine. Not to mention under 5k 1TB Gen-4 SSD with 7000+mbps read and 6000+mbps write speed is just mind blowing. If you are looking for a great and reliable ssd with amazing fast speed under a restricted budget of 6k then this is the ssd which you must buy.

I bought this SSD for my new PC build, and it has been a month now. Honestly, it's fast—really fast! My PC boots in under 4 seconds. I had never heard of this brand before and was hesitant at first, but after using it, I’m so happy I bought it. However, I’m not sure about its longevity, so I’ll have to check that for myself over time. As of now, though, it’s performing great!

I formatted this orico-07000 1tb ssd in APFS format. I downloaded blackmagic disk speed in my macbook air m1 test to test the speed. I found out that read and write speed is almost same and around 900 MB/s. I tried changing port and retested the speed. The result is same. The speed is no where upto 6GB/s or 7GB/s. I'ts not even close. Is it its real speed or what ? I'm quite disappointed.

Tips for those who are getting low read and write measurements make sure while measuring you put the charger on to your laptop even if your laptop is fully charged and make sure you are testing in power performance mode of your laptop not in power efficiency mode (check under battery icon at the bottom) I got excellent results while testing I'm sharing a screenshot don't hesitate too much you are getting best around 7000-MB/s plus read and around 6000-MB/s plus write speed in this rate with 5yrs brand warranty what a deal grab it.

Put this Orico SSD (Solid State Drive) through its paces in a test setup that indicated it was a very high speed unit. Then installed a full complement of valuable data throughout drive with NO DECREASE IN SPEED so Orico has probably incorporated a very sufficient and worthy space storage algorithm inside unit. (This cannot be said of some other popular SSD manufacturers.) Will definitely consider purchase of another one of same variety. Orico once again proves itself to be superior for high quality but also, and especially, in the field of digital storage technology.
