Had this up for a few weeks now and I love it. The fisheye lens sees everything! We have powered ours to take advantage of the 24/7 recording feature which is proving to be very handy. It works like a charm, the plug in bell rings, my phone rings, the audio is pretty good, the picture is really good and it's nice not to have to open the door to annoying cold callers etc!!! I must admit I went for a Tapo as I have quite a few Tapo devices, plugs/bulbs/cameras and therefore I knew setup would be effortless as I have the app running already. Still it's so easy to setup, connects straight to the wifi, picks up and movement of people and animals poking around outside my door. This is a quality item, and no subscription to pay!!

This is the best doorbell I have ever owned, and I've previously used both Nest and Ring models. The single most crucial feature for my setup is the wide-angle lens. Since people approach my door from the right, not a straight line, this camera catches them long before they even get close, ensuring I never miss an approach—a critical upgrade from the competition. Beyond the excellent field of view, it includes numerous extra features that the others simply don't. The picture quality, day or night, is perfect and records in full color. Furthermore, if you choose to subscribe, the yearly cost is significantly cheaper than both Nest and Ring. I would never go back. While I miss the automatic push notifications/emails that my old Nest setup offered (the only minor drawback of this Tapo model), this doorbell is an easy 99% better than anything else on the market.

Good photography with straightforward operation. Clear sounding bell. Software is a bit clunky but that possibly down to me. Certainly easy to install.

I’ve now switched fully to the Tapo range, and this doorbell just confirms why — no more monthly subscriptions and a much better experience overall. The picture quality is outstanding — true 2K clarity that’s a big step up from the 1080p Ring I used to have. The wide 180° field of view captures everything clearly, and the built-in light highlights the doorbell perfectly, making it easy for visitors to see even in the dark. I also love the fact that it’s wired with a battery backup and has an SD card slot in the rear, so even if the Wi-Fi or internet goes down, it still records locally — something many other models don’t offer. The AI detection is spot-on too, accurately distinguishing between people, animals, and vehicles so you only get relevant alerts. The setup was simple, the app is intuitive, and the overall build quality feels solid and premium. For the price, this is a brilliant bit of kit — reliable, smart, and subscription-free. Absolutely love it, great value for money. Quality is clear even in the night. I love that I can change the colour on the doorbell light and change the chime sound. Takes a little while to connect sometimes but I can’t fault it and the speed differs each day. Easy to assemble and looks good.

I'd had this bell in my list for a while due to the excellent reviews. Hubby bought me one as a surprise and I am so thrilled after setting it up today. One reason for wanting a video bell is that hubby & I are both deaf, so we were missing callers if we weren't in the room with the flashing bell we had before. Also I have Rheumatoid which means I'm slow to get to the door. So we got this bell and I have to say from the first moment of opening it, it was a breeze to set up. The app is very intuitive and easy to use, the bell fixings are clear and easy to use. So bell charged, app and bell plus chimer all connected and working. My daughter drilled the holes for the bracket and we fitted it to the wall. I fiddled with a few settings, we opted for an SD card so we could avoid the subscription and then I waited for my little grandson to arrive to test it out for me. It worked perfectly, also for the Amazon delivery man a short while later. Hubby will be home in a few & I've locked the door so he has to ring the bell! I also want to add how cristal clear the video is and how clear the two way audio is, even being deaf (hearing aids wearers), we can use it beautifully. It's a fabulous bit of kit and good value to boot, with absolutely everything you will need in the box. The chime I received has a UK plug which is a bit annoying

Tenho a Tapo D235 instalada há alguns meses e, no geral, estou satisfeito com a compra, embora haja alguns aspectos que poderiam ser melhorados. Pontos fortes: A qualidade de imagem é excelente - 2K 5MP oferece nitidez suficiente para identificar rostos e detalhes importantes, mesmo com alguma distância. O campo de visão amplo cobre bem toda a entrada. A detecção de movimento funciona de forma fiável e as notificações chegam rapidamente ao telemóvel. A instalação foi relativamente simples, especialmente se já tiver cablagem de campainha existente. A app Tapo é intuitiva e permite configurar zonas de actividade, sensibilidade e outras definições de forma prática. A comunicação bidireccional tem boa qualidade de áudio, permitindo falar com visitantes sem problemas. A bateria integrada garante funcionamento mesmo em caso de falha de energia, o que é uma óptima funcionalidade de segurança. A integração com outros dispositivos Tapo funciona bem dentro do ecossistema da marca. Pontos a melhorar: O principal inconveniente é a questão do armazenamento cloud. Embora ofereçam 30 dias de teste gratuito do Tapo Care, depois disso é necessária subscrição mensal para aceder ao histórico completo de vídeos. Sem subscrição, as funcionalidades ficam bastante limitadas. Seria preferível ter opção de armazenamento local (cartão SD) como alternativa. A visão nocturna, apesar de funcional, não é tão nítida quanto a diurna - em condições de pouca luz, por vezes custa distinguir detalhes mais finos. A resposta em direito pode ter alguns segundos de delay, o que ocasionalmente causa frustração quando se quer ver quem está à porta em tempo real. Conclusão: A Tapo D235 é uma campainha inteligente competente que cumpre bem as funções básicas a um preço razoável. A qualidade de imagem é muito boa e a fiabilidade é satisfatória. No entanto, o modelo de subscrição obrigatório para funcionalidades avançadas não me parece certo. Recomendo para quem procura uma solução funcional sem custos iniciais elevados, mas tenham em conta os custos recorrentes se quiserem tirar máximo partido do equipamento.
