The Melamine Edge Banding and the Trimmer both work GREAT!
I've been re-doing my work benches in my shop with laminate sheet and putting a melamine back board behind them. I finished the edge of the laminate workbenches with some of the laminate sheet, but I needed a way to finish the edge of the melamine board, so I purchased both the GSCIT Club Melamine Edge Banding and the GSCIT Club edge banding Trimmer, this review covers both products. It should be noted that I purchased both of these on my own, but then the trimmer became available on Vine before I finished my project, and I liked it so much I figured I would get the Vine offering as well, but this review while showing as a Vine Review is actually a purchased product review. I've used iron on veneers before, so I knew a little of what to expect, but I didn't have such a nice trimmer back then, so this is a new experience for me. The Edge banding I got was a bit too wide for my boards because I thought I would use 3/4" melamine boards, but all I could get was 5/8". Even though it was a bit too wide, the trimmer did a great job anyway, but I did have to take two passes to get it all sometimes, because the channel it rides in can only hold so much of it... even so I'm extremely happy with the results! The Melamine edge banding matched my melamine board perfectly, it ironed on very nicely and smoothly. I trimmed the ends close with a scissors, then trimmed the surfaces with the trimmer and then more accurately trimmed the ends with a razor knife. Occasionally I would get a little fuzzy edge, but I think it's because the edge banding was way too wide for my board, but I found that if I just ran the hot iron over the fuzzy edges, flat and then at a slight angle, it fixed it right up. The Trimmer worked really great! It's cool how it's two parts are held apart by an "Air Spring" which means they put O-rings in there with some grease so the air that's in there gets trapped and can't get out, so when you squeeze it, you are compressing the air inside there, and it springs back. It's simple and it works well. It has 4 double sided knife blades in it, so it can trim both the top and bottom on both sides and in either direction! The blades are made to cut perfectly flush with the melamine board surface, but not scratch it or chip it, and that's impressive because melamine boards are notorious for being so easy to chip the edges. The finished edges looked GREAT! and I am VERY happy with how my project turned out! It looks SO much better with finished edges on the melamine boards than just particle board. The Melamine Edge Banding and the Trimmer both worked really great, and I'm really happy with both of them! I have more shelves and back panels to make and I also have some birch plywood projects coming up, so I will defiantly be buying more edge banding and making good use of the trimmer!

Works but there are probably better options
The trimmer works but there are probably better options. It only trims one side at a time instead both sides in one pass.

Good not perfect
It works well, but does not close smaller than 3/4". This is fine for trimming that size and up, but I haven't tried it on thinner material. I would guess I can run it along one side and then the other. We will see. Overall I don't regret the purchase.

Oily
It cut ok, but the oil inside dripped onto my veneer and left oil stains. I was able to sand them out, but it was an annoyance.
