Lovely little lens!
The Meike 33mm F1.4 is an impressive lens that punches well above its price range. It delivers great picture quality with excellent sharpness, making it ideal for portraits, street photography, and more. One of the standout features is the lovely bokeh it produces, thanks to its wide F1.4 aperture. The creamy background blur adds a professional touch to your images, helping your subjects stand out beautifully.Additionally, the lens is lightweight and easy to handle, making it perfect for photographers who value portability. The rubber seal at the mount is a thoughtful touch, providing extra protection in challenging weather conditions.Overall, this lens is a fantastic option for Nikon Z users seeking sharpness, stunning bokeh, and portability without breaking the bank.

All the bokeh, less than half the price!
The media could not be loaded. I considered the Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4, but for $599, I just couldn't justify the cost. I'm a hobbyist photographer who is slowly building my collection of Z lenses after switching from DSLR to mirrorless. Given the cost of the Nikon line, I decided to give this Meike third party lens a try.I love it! I'm very pleased overall with the build quality, autofocus speed, and bokeh.Bokeh: Bokeh is unbelievable! I've been a photographer for about 20 years, and this is the lowest aperture lens that I've owned. I've had a couple of Nikon f/1.8 prime lenses and this surpasses those. The bokeh is very creamy and helps highlight the subject. I've used this for some portraits and love how I can isolate the person to effectively eliminate any distractions in the background.Build Quality: The build quality is excellent! Made mostly of metal with plastic where necessary. The main part of the body is metal as is the aperture ring. All of my lenses do NOT have aperture rings, so this is an added bonus. The ring locks into place with each change of aperture. This adds to the quality and functionality of the lens. The lens looks modern and has some cool red accents. Lastly, the lens is heavy enough to feel sturdy, but light enough to carry around your neck all day at weddings and portait shoots without being a burden.Autofocus: The focus is quick and snappy. It works perfectly with the Nikon Z6ii that I have, as well as on my Z30. I pumped up the ISO and shutter speed for some camping photos and was surprised at how good things look given the lighting. I've also used this for some action shots (mostly my kids playing) and am very pleased with the ability of the Meike lens to focus quickly and with the sharpness of all my photos. If you're looking for a great alternative to the Nikon 35mm f/1.4, get this! It was about 40% of the price, but still works just as well. I'm excited to continue to try the Meike line of Nikon Z lenses. The quality is amazing and the price is just right to help me transition all of my lenses to Z mount.

The perfect everyday lens for your camera
I got this lens after seeing the positive reviews and I must say I did not regret it! Especially at this price point. At 33mm, this lens is able to allow me to shoot in a wide variety of situations, be it portrait, street and even close-ups. The lens delivers really sharp images and beautiful bokeh. (Just check out the images I uploaded).Auto-focus is super quick as well when pairing it with my Sony A6700!The weight of this lens is also really light which is a crucial factor for me as I hate to bring out heavy gears when im out for shoot. So all in all, Im really happy I have picked up this lens, and am definitely going to start trying the other Meike lens as well!

Big Value APS-C lens for the Nikon Z system
Meike 33mm F1.4 lens for Nikon Z system. This an APS-C lens primarily for use with the Nikon Z crop sensor camera bodies (ZfC,Z50,Z30) although it will work with other Z cameras in crop mode too.The 33mm APS-C lens gives a field of view equivalent to a 50mm lens on a full frame camera which has long been a goto favorite focal length and good value lens for DSLR cameras. The full frame Nikon 35mm f1.8 lens is several times the price of this lens and Nikon have not released an equivalent lower cost crop frame alternate, so it is good to see this sub $250 lens from Meike and even better that it is an F1.4 lens to give shallower depth of field and better subject separation. One of the images shows the Meike lens between the slower Nikon 40mm f2 and 35mm f1.8 full frame lenses for a size comparison.A 33mm APS-C lens a good general purpose walk around focal length for a range of subjects and sharpness is good even at the corners (for example on the bridge image) when stopped down a bit for landscape images .I found sharpness in the center to be great even wide open at F1.4.The f1.4 is really useful for low light and indoor use enabling the use of faster shutter speeds . In bright light outside I found it useful to shoot at smaller apertures or use a polarizer or ND filter to keep below the 1/4000sec shutter speed limit of the Nikon Z30.When walking about, I really liked using the clicked aperture ring to select my desired depth of field and see what it was set to, before ever bringing the camera up to my face. If needed, the aperture ring can be set to 'A' and it will then be controlled automatically by the camera. Autofocus worked very well in all situations. The build quality seems great with the lens hood connecting firmly and a USB-C port on the underside for firmware updates.SummaryValue is excellent especially for a fast f1.4 aperture: 5/5 recommendation
