The uke is a blast! I haven`t mastered it yet by a long shot, but I have immensely enjoyed earning my first string blister : )I would give plenty of stars for the instrument itself, but I have to add one or two for the vendor, True Joy. They ship quickly (a good thing, but not really all that unusual), they throw in the nice tote bag (getting better), and when I opened the box I was surprised to find that it included an electronic tuner (cool!) and a laminated ukulele cord and note chart which I didn`t even know I needed, but has been super useful. Note that the last two items aren`t even listed in the product description, but by their throwing in a couple bucks worth of surprise goodies, they really made my day. Good going, guys- very thoughtful of you! Seriously, I dug out that cord chart thing half way through trying to figure out my first batch of YouTube lessons and find myself referring to it constantly. If I had not received one, would have never even known I needed it, haha! Want a ukulele in this general price range? Don`t rack your brain any further- buy this one and order it from these folks.

I am so glad to have chosen this brand and model to be my first ukulele. I did my research and I found great reviews on this uke that I felt I needed to post my own. When I first got it in the mail, the package was a bit roughed up but that was due to the carrier. It was wrapped carefully in thick bubble wrap so nothing was damaged. It even came with a complementary beginners book (which I was happy to see). After I tuned it up a bit, knowing that the tuning would fluctuate the first couple weeks, and started strumming. The tone of this ukulele is incredible. It's nice and loud with a pick but still maintains a beautiful tone. I like to strum with my thumb so it's a bit softer sounding and it sounds wonderful nonetheless. Once I started teaching myself chords, I could not put this ukulele down. It just sounded so rich and I ended up teaching myself a couple songs the day I got it. If you are considering buying this ukulele, please do, you won't regret it.Plus this seller donates proceeds to the pediatric hospital music therapy, which I find to be very wonderful and worth buying your uke from.

This is my third ukulele. My other ones are solid wood and therefore more susceptible to weather conditions and humidity. I was looking for something I could lug around to jams and travel with. Not being made of solid wood, I didn't have very high expectations, which was why my jaw dropped when I actually played the thing. This little Flea sounded GOOD! The sound was nice and loud, intonation was great, it's just an exuberant little instrument!The fact that it came with a gig bag was an added plus since I intend to tote this everywhere I go.Because of the nature of this instrument, you don't have to worry about set up. The frets will not buzz (The entire fretboard is one piece of plastic) and the action is just right. Greg at True Joy Acoustics preps the ukulele and when it comes to you, it's perfect. The strings didn't even take that long to break in.Trust me, even if you see a cheaper price elsewhere (which is hard to believe) I would still buy from True Joy just for the stellar service and the great cause this company supports.

I was looking for a ukulele that was made in the USA, and I knew I could never justify the cost of a solid wood ukulele that was hand made in Hawaii. I decided on a Flea based on reviews I found here and on youtube. I decided to order my ukulele through Amazon instead of Flea Market Music because of the free shipping and the free padded gig bag. I took my ukulele on a trip and it fell out of the back of the car once and the case protected it very well. I think my ukulele sounds great, stays in tune well, and the concert size is very easy to play (compared to a soprano uke I have). When looking around online, I didn't really like the shape, but now that I have it I love the flat bottom that allows me to set it down anywhere. I am just learning to play with Jumpin' Jim's Ukulele Tips 'N' Tunes, but I am looking forward to many years of happy strumming.

I'm just a beginner, mainly a keyboard player who' is learning some fretboard instruments. I like the FLEA Ukulele, very pretty sound and it meets my "beginner" needs right now. One negative that caught me by surprise was that on the version I bought, the fret bars are the same color as the underlying fretboard. So if you are in a low light setting, it can be difficult to see the fret bars because they blend in.

The Flea concert ukulele has exceeded my expectations. It has a very nice tone, a nice appearance, and the concert-size makes it easier for me to play than a soprano size due to the size of my fingers. The only thing possibly holding this instrument back is the player. Quite a nice little ukulele. If anyone is thinking of buying a soprano or a concert-sized ukulele, I would highly recommend them considering purchasing this type of ukulele--the concert Flea.Dealing with Amazon and True Joy Acoustics was a breeze and a pleasure.
