Radar Pitching Trainer

This Radar Trainer Exceeded my expectations. This genius device is well implemented with easy to follow instructions. The superior service of the company persuaded me to purchase this item for my boys’ Christmas present. My emails were promptly responded to and the item was delivered quickly. When I first thought about getting an automatic pitching target, my husband mentioned that our boys may not want this as a large part of their Christmas gift. After describing the concept to the boys, they were begging for this present. My boys are both competitive baseball pitchers, but our busy schedule prevents consistent family practice. This product allows them to practice independently with objective feedback. Objective feedback is the key to success when mastering a skill. Even skilled umpires make errors at times, and well intentioned parents and coaches are far more error prone. This trainer is consistent. If the trainer records a strike, then my boys know that they are throwing in the desired area, increasing muscle memory. Also, although I don’t mind playing catcher for my boys, my older son’s 60mph velocity is on a steady increase. This target removes the danger of catching high speed pitches, while allowing us to analyze mechanics. We have been able to set up a video camera at a great angle, and our boys have already improved after reviewing their mechanics. I was concerned before purchasing the product about the radar. Logically, feedback on speed would allow my boys to ensure they are maintaining velocity and encourage them to progress at an acceptable rate. The controversy over this topic worried me, but the company assured me that after receiving similar feedback from customers, they enhanced their product with a switch to turn the radar off. My older son did have an issue throwing wildly with the radar at first. After turning the radar off temporarily and having a conversation with my son about focus and goals, he was soon able to use the radar for benefit only. Our sons LOVE this product. They love the accuracy of the radar and the real-time feedback. They love that when mom and dad are tired, they can bring the product out themselves and practice. This product if a GREAT deal. Competitive ball players spend hundreds of dollars on pitching sessions, training facilities and travel-ball. This product allows your pitchers to practice at your convenience. We are so impressed with this product that we will likely bring it to practice for our sons’ teams.

My 3 sons and their friends love the Radar Pitching Trainer. This past summer I took my family to the Science Museum of Virginia and there was a new exhibit called "speed" which contained an actual baseball pitching cage with a radar speed display. They enjoyed it so much that I looked to see if I could find something similar for home, thinking they would enjoy practicing baseball more. I looked around and found the Radar Pitching Trainer. It does what I wanted... my three boys, ages 7-15, (and their multiple friends) challenge each other and themselves to improve in both accuracy and speed. It is kind of like a video came, but it involves real physical movement. It is much more rewarding than throwing to a catcher or pocket net. It really does increase their desire to practice and helps them feel more comfortable on the real field with players and batters. We are living in cold winters, so in our unfinished basement, this is like off-season training. Our daughter is even considering taking up softball, as the trainer has a softball setting as well!! It can be easily transported; the electronic display and radar come off easily (two thumb screws) and the prop leg folds in for easy transport (SUV, minivan, pickup) or storage. I would suggest some sort of fence or other backstop for use outside.

We bought this for a Christmas present for our 2 daughters that play travel ball . It was very easy to set up . It also folds up so it is easy to transport from home to practice fields or facility . The construction of the trainer is heavy duty and the screen that you throw the ball at is very thick and heavy duty . The electronics are well built and also protected from any ricochet. This is a product that will last for many decades . My 10u daughter gained 5 mph just from being driven by being able to see her speed . The seller has answered every question very quickly . You have the option to purchase cheaper that doesn’t last , or you can purchase this product that will last for your kids and there kids . Don’t hesitate to spend the money and purchase a quality product , it’s worth every penny !

Very disappointed in this product. I have been coaching girls fast pitch for many years and I also give private pitching lessons. This devise will not read a drop ball, drop curve, or change up. I was really hoping for the money this would be a great investment but trust me it’s not worth the money. So disappointed! Also the radar devise runs on batteries! I would like it more if it could be plugged in to an outlet. Or rechargeable. Not run on AA batteries!

Would not reccomend. Not same as in picture and top does not have holes for pole to go through so it just flaps down- not what it looks like in picture.

Bought this April 2017 never left it outside and all the rubber straps have dry rotted other than that it is a great device but now I have no idea where to get replacement bands anyone??

This thing is pretty cool. The only thing they don't warn you about is that it is very loud when the ball hits the mat. It has to have a sound to register the ball/strike. If you take off the plastic target overlay piece then you will only register your speed with the radar.We are timid about using it at home in the neighborhood because people might thing they are hearing a gunshot when the hard baseball hits it.Perfect to fold up and throw in the back of a truck or SUV and take to the high school or practice field. No worries about sound polution there.
