Ethiopiques 27: Centennial Of The First Ethiopian Music Recordings

Received the CD safely packaged and on time. For historical music lovers of Ethiopia, it is very interesting. But for someone who simply wanted an Ethiopian music, I would not recommend it, the sound is so old, it is not clear sounding.

Not every fan of the Ethiopiques series will like this two-disc set, but I love it. No Western instruments or Western jazz or pop transplants, just raw vocals and one-string fiddle, recorded in Germany for the Odeon label in the very early 20th century. If you like the Secret Museum series and Excavated Shellac, this is for you.
