Buy these for my wife. They are reliable and she seems to like them. Haven't had any real problems out of these strips or the meter.

It is a tough task to introduce blood into the strip for testing. You need more blood than Freestyle - in fact, much much more. Then there is accuracy, which is another matter. But $10 for 50 strips is a very very low price (when insurance does not pay for same) which will offset all the disadvantages.

I am no scientist and test strips are test strips to me. I compared three readings just as Mssr. Curie up there did (and I thank him a great deal - one of my family is a diabetic and has no insurance. A Relion glucometer and 100 test strips are on their way as we speak.As nearly as I can tell, these tests of Relion closely matched the readings of two other meters, the test strips of which cost over $1 per strip.. Relion Prime test strips per 100 ct were $35.88. No brainer for me (and that description fits me so well). I'm Starting to feel some renewed hippie-ish tendencies and I think we should, every one of us should strive to buy medicine (of acceptable quality and trustworthy origin) as cheaply as possible and stop shrugging because our insurance pays for it. Sure it does until you reach the coverage gap stage - and you'll get there much faster paying top dollar when there isn't a serious difference in the necessary 'skills' of the less expensive meter (the prime meter was,I believe, under $15. Diabetics of the world, unite!

My Mother is 91 years old and has been testing blood glucose levels once daily for years. January 2014 after years of normal readings, her blood sugar dropped very low (40). We'd gotten the Solus V2 meter last fall sometime. It talks to you to let you know every step of the process when it's ready to proceed. Even tells you that there is not enough blood for testing.I thought it was a decent meter but for Mom it's better than perfect. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2011. She easily forgets or gets confused with multi-step processes. This meter with strips guides her through the process.I recommend this meter for anyone who gets easily confused due to dementia.The only negative I have is that you MUST place your fingertip at the tip edge of the strip for proper collection. It is not one you can just "swipe" your finger at and the strip picks up the sample and reads.

My wife is diabetic, and found this source of test strips online . . . so I ordered two canisters. They have performed perfectly, and we are satisfied in every respect with the product and the supplier. We will be buying from them again as needed.

This is exactly what I expected. Price is great compared to what the 'normal' suppliers charge. Don't get a 5 because there's nothing really outstanding they can do. They do what you want.
