Sort of a related question / answer; If you order the Kestrel / Bushnell 1 mile CONX combination , it does come with the weather vane attachment and a little carrying case. No tripod. They don't advertise it that way, but it was a nice suprise

Yes you can definitely do that. However you cannot do it with the AB app. You have to use the Kestrel LiNK Ballistics app to do this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nkhome.link.ballistics&hl=en

Q: is this the 5700 elite? what model is the top of the line model?

Depends what you want it for. 5700 is tops in my book with applied ballistics. There others designed for fire, agriculture, etc. I like me 5700 and would buy it again.
