Unique, complex, Chilean merken-laced olive oil, packaged gorgeously
Not a strong olive (fruit) presence, but instead the gentle bite of fresh virgin oil with the complementary edge of smoked goat horn peppers and some coriander (that's the merken). The result is great for light frying (eggs) or for drizzling over pasta with hard cheese. It is a little edgy for salads (green salads at least) but I think it would add some true depth to many vegetable dishes that call for olive oil. I really like it. It's different and sophisticated. And Merken is the undiscovered great spice of South America, the best is from inland Chile. Look for it.
