KZ ZST Dynamic Hybrid Dual Driver In Ear Earphones (With Microphone Colorful)

First (and to be fair) I should probably point out that I use a Dragonfly DAC (black), Iphone 8 and the Onkyo HD app for optimal output from my ALAC (apple lossless) tune files. Then I compare these entry level KZ to 1More Triple and Quad drivers which I know well and like overall as well as various Sure, Sony, Sen, Dunu, etc. Patience is then key here, at first they sounded very high pitched (too much treble and high with almost no bass) and I thought I just wasted £15 but I persevered to find a better seal (played with different tips so suit my ears) which improved things greatly (especially for the bass of course) finally I adjusted the tuning on the 11 bands tuner (Onkyo app) and a "W" shape with a slight emphasis on the bass did the trick for me. At this point I would say that they sound potentially as good as the 1 More quad drivers, slightly less balanced yes but warm, well detailed, punchy and creating a very good and vast sound stage. They are also comfortable despite their size because they are extremely light. I can't recommend them enough, even if you don't own a DAC, just find a good seal (that's essential) , play with the tuning and you'll be smiling in no time. It's a truly an amazing value. I first bought these earbuds after watching Dankpods' Video on affordable in-ear monitors and I have to say.. The KZ ZST's have delivered! The sound quality is OUTSTANDING for the price, not to mention the really cool braided cable and the ear hooks give it that extra credit it deserves. Overall I would say if you're looking to get really good affordable in-ear headphones, these are the way to go. 10/10

This review wants to thank DankPods for the recommendations he mentions in his videos. I've been using these KZs whilst travelling to work for a few months and I love the sound quality, the braided wire is perfect because I used to buy cheaper earphones and the wires fail after several months of use and so far, KZ is good quality and amazing for the price. There is one tiny issue that made this 4 star, it is very minor admittedly but I have to be honest. The rubbery ear buds after a few months were easy to lose. Sometimes they get stuck in my ears, sometimes they escape when I put them in my pocket and it's just luck if they turn up in my pocket still. Luckily with the fact the wire can easily be seperated from the important part of the earphones which is good but a portable case would be great for these so they dont get lost easily. All said and done, these in ear KZs are amazing so nothing major but it is an issue I have and it's always best to mention these things to get a fair go at it.

Using these as day to day/ exercise headphones. Really impressed. From the sound quality I'd pay over double the listed price. They have a super deep bass, clear mids & bright high notes, with a nice amount of separation. I'd say the treble is a bit too prominent, almost tinny, but if you're using an App like Spotify you can adjust the EQ to boost the lows and cut out the highs as you prefer. The over ear fit of the headphones keeps them secure to your head if you're on the move. One thing I will say is ensure the buds are clipped on properly to the cable, you have to really push them in until they click, otherwise they will slip off. Good sound, cheap & good looking; these earphones have surpassed my expectation.

This earphone it's the best below 20 pounds by far. The sound quality its amazing. It fits perfectly in my ears, sometimes I forgot that I'm wearing them. It feels made with a cheap plastic, I would advice to be careful when handling.

This is absolutely amazing, they sit perfectly in your ears if you have the wires going up through your back, sound cancellation is perfect and the sound quality is superb.

Low cost and got what I paid for hence they have been returned. The wires that plugged into the ear monitors were not very robust, one would only work if held in place, quite difficult if trying to play drums. I liked the look and design, the wire was quite funky but they need to perform.

I found these to be comfortable when I first got to use these. The sound is not the bassiest but it is clear and sounds pleasant to me. Remember people, not everyone hears the same. After a lot more wearing, I do now find my actual right ear gets a bit achy after 2 hours and my left ear is fine. I still recommend this

Wow, these are excellent! If you're looking for an easy sound upgrade that's much better than most earphones that come with your mobile devices, just pickup a pair of these. They have excellent clarity, decent bass, and a way better soundstage than most included earphones. That great clarity and soundstage are actually surprising to find in such a low cost earphone. They've also updated these to include "memory wire" like their ATE-S model, so the wire holds it shape around your ear which makes it even more secure. The included eartips come in 3 sizes, and for me the attached(Medium) one fits fairly well and is comfortable for extended use, but your mileage may vary depending on how big or small your ear canal is. They do stay in really well though, and don't feel like they'll fall out even when shaking my head. The pair with mic has a single button that can answer/hangup calls, and play/pause music. On Android, you can use the "double press" of that button to skip to the next track also(no idea on iPhone functionality). Again, I can't stress enough how good these sound for the cost. They very easily beat the included earphones for my Galaxy S6, old S4, old iPhone 4S,and my Skullcandy Titans(discontinued) ,and JLab Audio Epic(old version). The only cons I can note are: 1. As with most in-ear earphones, the wire does produce noise as it hits against something like your clothes, or your body(I believe it's called microphonics) say if you're running, so just be wary of this as I wouldn't recommended these for intense activities, unless you can somehow really secure the cable to the back of your ear so that part does not move or hit against you which is what makes most of that noise. Normal walking or moving about shouldn't be much of an issue. 2. The control does not have volume buttons(it's only a single button). 3. The initial attaching of the wire to the earphone step was a little rough, since no instructions are given and the plug fits very snug, so at one point I was worried that it felt like I may be pushing it in too hard, but it did finally fit. As a final thought, I just have to say that I'm really enjoying listening to music with these earphones, they just produce a pleasing, clear overall sound that every other earphone I own does not even come close to, and only my large headphones can beat. At the price, that's rare to find.
