Heats like a champ!
I use this for my 1 gallon kombucha jar. It works perfectly, but it took me a while to get the right setting, since the version that was sent to me did not have the white dots that I see on the current product photo. I also had to use a rubber band to hold it onto my jar, since there is no way to cinch the belt up to the jar otherwise. But it does heat very well. I would buy it again. I just started using it, so I don't know how long it will work, but so far, so good.

You'll need to use this with a power meter
The markings on the dial are useless - current doesn't flow until well pass the maximum mark.Once current begins flowing **very** small movement of the dial increases the current significantly. So using a powermeter set to "Watts" will let you see when current flows and how much current is flowing.I found placing the knob on stable surface and very lightly brushing it with my finger was needed to set it to the desired point without over-/under-shooting.

Works well!
The heating belt works well and the temperature control does enable you to turn it on and off as well vary the temperature. There are dots on the dial of the control know that provide a reference for setting the relative temperature. It would be helpful if it came with an o-ring that could be used to tighten the belt around the container you are using. I am currently using a thick rubber band. I use this for brewing Kombucha.

It warms well but is too direct
I got this to put on my stainless steel 8 gallon fermenting vessel for kombucha. Unfortunately due to how narrow it is the heat is pretty focused and I ended up overheating my batch of kombucha. I ended up building an insulated box for the fermenter and put this inside draped along the edge. Hooked to a temperature controller that does a much better job of evenly heating the liquid.

Great for the by the bucket batcher.
Works very well. Even came with adhesive temp gauge. If I were to give a critisism (and its not even that big of a deal) that maybe it could have a clip on the cord to help keep it tightened around the bucket but it has only slipped off once and I think that is because somebody attempted to move it.

Not accurate
It is either too hot or not enough heat. The dots mean nothing because they don't line up.

No where near accurate, but it does heat up
It's cheap and it works.. but don't count on using the markings on the knob because you won't get any heat based on those setting. You have to turn up the dial past the marking for it to generate any heat.

This heating belt works very well. It takes a little while to get used to the temperature settings. With a little practice, it will take care of your heating needs from 1 to 5 gallons.
