I was instantly smitten with this door. After trying to order it directly from the seller (which failed, because they "don't ship outside the USA"), I took to the interwebs and found Amazon did ship them! My bunnies have a custom enclosure, with catflaps. One of them made it his mission to absolutely destroy the catflaps. First the locking pins were gone, then he actually broke out the entire door. I was worried what he'd do with this one, but the "omg a Hobbit door!" Won from the "darn it's expensive to ship it over, if he destroys it...". No worries though! The Hobbit/Gnome door comes with a cutout sheet to fit it. Quality screws to attach it. The lock feels sturdy, both the open slide and close doorknob. It's functional, because it is big enough for the lops to fit through comfortably (both at the same time, it would probably also easily fit a Flemish or French lop/Maine coon). And my little boy has made 0 tries to destroy it thus far! He likes laying in the opening looking out over his dominion. Yes, they are pricey (to ship abroad), but in the grand scheme of things, the quality, ease of installation, looks and happiness of your pets makes it worth its while. We are happy I managed to get my hands on them, and I'm looking forward installing the other one.

So cute! My husband thinks the shire door is a good laugh. The unit is plastic but seems well built and was easy to install. The door has a little latch that keeps it locked open so it won’t get broken on the swinging door. I appreciate this feature. Found it to be a good size - I have up to a 18# cat and he can fit through easily. Don’t hesitate.

I bought this to keep the dog from leaving my room at night but allow the cats to come and go as they please. We have a huge 19 lb tall boy. So I really needed a door that would be big enough for him to use comfortably. This is big enough, however our 45 lb chow chow can squeeze herself through when she’s motivated. It takes some effort so I can hear her trying. It took a few reprimands before she learned that’s a no-go. It probably wouldn’t work to stop a smaller or more motivated dog. It is ridiculously cute. It makes me happy to watch the cats pop out of their hobbit hole. The install was easy with a jig saw. The included template was easy to cut out and use. I traced it with a marker before cutting. Everything lined up as it should and the door closes, opens, and latches with ease. It’s good quality and seems like it will last. The latch is sturdy and none of the animals can open it by themselves. It makes me laugh to see little cat noses in the window whenever I close it and they want in.

Cute, effective, and easy to install. Nice option to close door when you need the cats to stay in or out. All 3 cats took to it immediately, including very chonky scaredy cat. Purchased a cheap black & decker jigsaw for install and was easy to cut out shape. Hardest part was getting door off stiff hinges.

This door is super cute and really well made. Easy to install and a perfect size for our cat. This lock is perfect to keep our cat out when necessary. Great value.

This is adorable!! Easy to assemble and comes with a template. The little door locks open which is nice. It will fit bigger cats as well.

I have a variety of cat breeds and ages. All of them are able to use this door with ease. My largest is 12lbs and he stands 13" tall when on all fours from paw to top of head. He can shoot through this door quite quickly & stealthily. It's adorable and it locks, which was a necessity for me. My husband had an easy time installing it. I would definitely recommend! It came very well packaged and on time.

I'm a middle-aged woman who admittedly has never used many power tools before and this was my first time using a jigsaw but I installed this gnome door in a solid wood door and it was super easy! The whole process took maybe 35 minutes and that included getting the heavy door off the hinges and back on again. Honestly, the toughest part was putting the heavy door back on the hinges by myself. Other than that, it installed very easily! My newly-adopted, skittish, senior kitty used it right away without any hesitation. It seems sturdy and looks adorable. One of the best Amazon purchases I've made in a while.

Schon vor einer ganzen Weile haben wir diese coole Wichteltür im Netz gefunden und wollten sie unbedingt haben. Leider war es bis kürzlich nicht möglich diese aus Deutschland zu bestellen, auch auf der Herdstelleseite nicht. Jetzt hat es aber geklappt und wir konnten die Katzentür auf Amazon.us bestellen und nach Deutschland liefern lassen. Die Tür ist, wie wir uns das vorgestellt haben. Unsere Katzen haben sie schnell angenommen und können nun, wenn wir wollen, aus der Wohnung in den Hausflur, bzw. natürlich auch anders herum. Unser dicker Kater, leider bestimmt 1,5 kg zuviel, passt auch bequem durch die Tür. Nicht ganz optimal ist, dass die Tür nicht so richtig dicht ist und es zieht schon etwas kalt bei geschlossener Tür durch. Ich will das der Tür nicht anlasten, denn das war mir vorher schon klar und ich habe das Bewußt in Kauf genommen. Da unsere Tür nicht ganz eben ist, von der Oberfläche her, hat meine Frau auf beiden Seiten eine braune, dicke Filzschnur zwischen den Rahmen und dem Türblatt gesteckt. Das sieht fast so aus, als ab das so muss :o)
